Shoots in the 90s

I was surprised with how nice a course this is. Looked like nothing special on the drive there, but it was very very well maintained relative to courses in the Pittsburgh area. Fairways are nice, not too hard, not too soft. The holes are pretty challenging, and not always straightforward. There's water in play on several holes (if you get first hole jitters, #1 could be extra embarrassing for you... just ask me) but you don't need to be a pro to get over it, you just need a good shot. The greens are moderately fast but not out of line. Hole #12's green is pretty ridiculous... 3 out of 4 of us hit the front of the green only to watch it roll off, but that was the only problem green. There are no deadspots. Greens break a little less that you think, most putts were fairly straight unless you were on a ridge. Like the below reviewer said, there are some goofy holes. #18 is just stupid, a blind tee shot on a total dogleg left with a spotting flag that isn't in the right place. So everyone hits at it, misses right into the rough, and has no shot at the green covered by a forest. There's a few other blind tee shots where you have to ring a bell (wtf?) after hitting onto the green to let the people behind you know they can tee off. Other than that, most holes are simply challenging holes that will test all parts of your game. If you habitually hook the ball, it might be a long day.

Almost a top-notch course. Several challenging holes, and very well maintained. What keeps this from being a 5-star course are the goofy-golf holes, particularly 12 (you cannot keep the ball on the green) and 18. Water in play on 4/9/11/14.

Customer Service

generally good
