I am a Caddy and soon to be member at Commonwealth. It is one of the most beautiful courses i have ever seen. It is a tough course to be had. If you are or are almost a scratch golfer you should try playing the golf course from the Blacks, it will give you an experience like no other.

Interesting golf course from a woman's point of view. Not an easy course for the average woman golfer however, women who hit a long ball will have a better chance to score well. The front nine begins with a nice starting hole and follows to some holes where placement is the key. However, esthetically, the front nine is less than lovely because it is set within several office buildings which overlook the course. The back nine is far superior in terms of esthetics and many women may also find the back nine more difficult. To me, the play within environmentally lovely settings on the back is enjoyable though one must be able to carry the ball over some difficult hazzards. There are prettier courses but a woman of average ability had better bring her best game or she will be frustrated by the difficulties she will face. A woman of lesser skill may find this course too difficult to enjoy.

Customer Service

Wonderful staff. Small but lovely women's locker room.

Have played this course as a guest 6 or 8 times. This is a truly great course. Benign start with a reachable par 5 and a subtly difficult par 4, but score there, because then the fun begins. Every hole after that (except the par 3 8th)demands at least one near perfect shot to prevent double bogey or higher. Highlights or lowlights depending on your perspective) are the 4th, 6th and 9th--all par 4s, but dangers come on these holes from all angles in in various forms--tee shots, approach shots or delicate touch shots to save par. The fun really begins on the back 9 where there is no let up. Keep it right on 10 or double bogey starts you off. 11 is a tough par 5, hit and hope on the 170 yard par 3 12th. 13 through 15 are three of the best back to back to back par 4's you'll find anywhere. 13 requires a long tee shot and a precise second over water to a small, kidney shaped gree with a severe front to back slope. 14 requires a precise tee shot followed by a challeging second that pulls your ball toward the environmental area on the left. 15 calls for a straight tee shot with carry up to 220 yards from the back tees. Or you can challenge the chute and try to cut the corner. A true risk reward hole. 16 and 17 are parable, but you need to be able to putt and you're ready for the 18th. 18 is a par 4 that demands a straight tee shot to a landing area short of the marshland. The second shot (if you're not blocked out right or left) will call for a long iron of anywhere from 175 yards to 225. The green is also deep and slick from front to back, so club selection matters on the approach. Every hole is in fabulous condition. Bent grass tees, greens and fairways, fully irrigated, and thick rough make this course a gem. If you survive, head into the clubhouse and enjoy the awesome food. This is a truly great golf club. Bring your game and make sure your expectations are in line. This course is fun to play, but if you let down, it will jump up and bite you.

I believe that Commonwealth National Golf Club is a very nice course, with a very courteous staff and a great course to play. I am very satisfied every time I play there from the time I turn into their parking lot to the time I leave. Every hole is greatly laid out and challenging for all skill levels.

The dining area was great, and the food was very well prepared and presented. The locker room was clean and nice with a mini bar and TV area, which is very comfortable. Overall a very nice atmosphere.

Course was nicely groomed. Very difficult to play. Freebee
from vendor. Not much room for bad shots. I had many. Lost atleast 12 balls. Luckily they gave me 3, so I'm only down 9 balls. Nice scenery including beverage girls. Carts
had poor acceleration and breaking. Did not turn corners like on rails. Gas mileage below average. Windshield cracked. Much goose feces, had to watch your step to manuever around. Many geese on course, some dead, some alive. Does anyone like grilled geese. Many dead geese due
to poor manuevering carts. Overall, enjoyable experience since I was not at work and they paid for everything including lunch, dinner, beverage girls, late night entertainment and a hat too!!!
