This course is in rough condition. The faiways are poor at best. You are probebly better off hitting from the rough because at least there is grass there. Fairways are fairly chewed up and with the course layout you are not going to have many flat lies even in the middle of the fairways. Drainage is poor and greens are already a disater. Course is known as a retiree course but really at least one of the seniors should be able to bend over and fix a divot. The county should job build a retirement home in the parking lot. Have played this course a few years back and it was in much better condition than present. Tee boxes look like my kids have been playing on them for days with their bikes and shovels. Horrible locations to play from the tips and again tee boxes are not real tee boxes. Looks like they just put the markers wherever grass can grow. Rangers are lazy and do not improve speed of play on bit. This is to bad because this course has been around for a long time and if the county would apply some money to it (lots of money) it could probably get back to it's glory days. I guess the price dictates the course condition. No bargain here even at less than $30 with cart Customer Service Nice people. No golf knowledge on site and pro shop looks like an ebay outlet selling shovels, knockoffs and gimmicks. Similar Products Used: Thank God none. |

Honest review of course. Played it 2 times now so I think I can review it. They fairways are horrible. I think you are better off in the so called "rough" there because at least you will have some grass under the ball. There are maybe 10 descent fairways but still hard to tell whats rough or fairway. Greens are beat up and the season just started. Sand traps virtually are like hitting off dirt. The tee boxes looked like my kids have played on them for 6 months with their bikes. This course is what it is, it's a course for old men and woman who beat the crap out of it all week (there gotta be 1 guy in the foursomes that can bend over to fix a divot mark)and pay like $55 for a whole season of golf. The rangers are as old as the golfers. Pro shop is a joke. Staff could care less who is there or not because they have a built in business during the week with the retirees. Allegheny county should just build a nursing home in the parking lot. It's a shame because at one time is was a very nice course years ago. Also, nice job on the 4 ft wide 100 yd stripes on the grass (dirt now)on the first hole. Does that maint. person still work there?? Pobably a high ranking county executives son. Customer Service none Similar Products Used: I once hit balls on my buddies farm in the cow pasture. Thats was pretty close except probably still a tinge better than course |

This course is a basic public deer track. Their couse maint. leaves a ton to be desired. Played this course with a few friends because it was not busy(for once, big time use on the senior circuit I hear)) and very close to home. From the looks of it not a penny has been put into the course this spring. Greens are horrendous and the differnce between being in the fairway and being in the rough is minimal. I know its $28 and I know its hard to beleive ...it's not worth it. I could not even see taking my young sons there to play. Would have been better off driving another 10 miles or so to the next closest course. It's a shame it has fallen apart like this. 10 years ago it was a descent course for the mid to high handicapper. Also, the facilities look very run down Customer Service old and crabby Similar Products Used: there are none in this bad of condition |

nice course. very inexpensive, well maintained. you can bomb it and not really worry much off the tee -- there isn't much trouble out there. greens were a little rough. . . |

Good place to practice but not for play.overall course design is very good but maintenance was very poor. alot of unrepaired bare ground on the green, even found couples of swing marks. Tee boxs are rock hard. |

The course is fairly long and a bit hilly. The greens roll much better than in the past and are reasonable. Overall it is a nice test for whatever skill level. Similar Products Used: None |
