By far my favorite Lincoln city-owned course. The greens roll true, the fairways are lush, and no two holes that are the same.

The very long buffalo grass will give you some impossible lies. It's a very fun course to play, except when the winds get above 20 mph.

The same arcitect of Highlands G.C.also designed The Champions Club in Omaha, which hosts the Nationwide Tour's Omaha Classic every year. The bunkering and split fairways are similiar at both courses.

Greens are in great shape and are very challenging. The rough will punish an erratic tee shot. Very responsive greens despite the lack of rainfall in the area.

Poorly maintained sand traps. Only one challenging par 3.

A links style course, Highlands will punish you if you miss fairways and reward your accuracy, should you hit the fairways. Sand bunkers well placed near the landing zones can be a bit of a challenge also. Strong winds make par 4's play like par 3's but on the way back you'll wish you had an extra stroke on the par 5's. http://www.1golf.com/ne/highland.htm

Customer Service

The staff is excellent! Only problem is that it's a large course with one beverage cart on a 90+ degree day. Only saw it once.

Very wide open

This course is a recent addition to Lincoln, built in a links style. the course is buit up mounds all over and loaded with many framing sandtraps that really do not come into play. The wind blows 10 moh harder here than anywhere else in town. Course is fairly wide open with lots of good birdie chances and some short reachable par fives unless the wind is really strong.
