Played, May 13, 2007. Played this course on the merits of the first review. I agree with dpaulp. Ocean Dunes, is not comparable to Sand Pines. Sand Pines, is a true championship layout with great conditions. Ocean Dunes, has the feel of a housing project course. (No land to work with.) Target golf with narrow tree lined fairways, with many holes being very similar. (Little diversity.) Distance markers hard to find. A hilly layout, making for a good hike. (It is walkable.) So so conditions. Smooth greens but hard as a rock. No range or practice facility, does have putting green. Also small restaurant. $45 to walk.

This is a short gimmicky course that does require some accuracy off the T. If you're looking for a great course to test your complete game you wont find it here. What you will find is uninspired golf holes surrounded by sand. Don't come here expecting to find the same level of course as Sand Pines. It's just not comparable

Short gimmicky course that in no ways compares to Sand Pines. I'd say this was target golf and as such does require accuracy off the Tee. No memorable holes here just a lot of sand.

Great test of golf! Don''t let the short yardage fool you - - this course will eat your lunch if your not hitting it where your aiming. The beach grass is a great hazzard - - impossible at times. If your going to Florence to play Sandpines you making a big mistake by not playing this jewel.
