The front side fairways could use some work,some of the holes are a little tricky with your approach shot. The back nine is a lot of fun, steep elevation changes and driveable Par 4's make a low round possible.

The course is usually in great shape. The back nine is a definite strength.

The front nine is much like any of the many public courses you will find in northeastern Oklahoma. It is not all that difficult, but is in great shape. The back nine, which is pretty new is by far one of the best public facilities in the state. This nine is well designed delivering that country club feel both in difficulty, as well as, the look. If you're looking for a fun inexpensive course, this one is worth the drive.

The front nine is a mature course, with lots of trees, ponds, and well-placed bunkers. The back nine is relatively new with wide open fairways and relatively little water, but look out for No. 10. If you hit a solid tee shot and a good second shot chances are you''ll still have 150 yds. to play over 100 yds. of water to a green protected by bunkers on the right and on the left front. The back nine is also much steeper than the front nine with four holes going straight up and down a substantial hill.

We''ve run into more "sixsomes" on Cherry Springs, even on weekends, than on any other course in eastern Oklahoma. We understand that is a result of a time-honored practice at Cherry Springs, but their fine young pro is working hard to eliminate that annoyance.

Of all of the golf courses my friends and I play in Tulsa, Wagoner, Mayes, and Cherokee counties, Cherry Springs is my clear favorite. I have enjoyed almost every round of golf I''ve ever played, but eighteen holes is usually enough for one day. When I play Cherry Springs, I always want to play another eighteen.

Excellent. Soft drinks and beer available on the course and a fine restaurant is available for sanwiches, and more, at the turn or after a round.
