Pace of play, but it's a public course - this is pretty standard.

As the other reviewer said, this course isn't very long. It's about 5,700 yards, with the back 9 quite a bit longer than the front. That said, it doesn't play like a course that short. There is a 180 yard par 3 on the front, and 2 550+ par 5's and a 200 yard par 3 on the back. The shorter par 4's are also basically all up hill. Anyhow, it is a beautiful golf course. From the 7th tee you get an amazing view of the mountains across the river. Also, they have a new groundskeeper this year, and he has done some very nice work. Certainly a great value at $25 walking for 18 holes.

good long and hilly holes. Greens are fair. The walk provides serious excercise given the lay of the land.

This is a quite beautiful and very underutilized NYS course just north of Hyed Park in Duchess County. The course is not long--5700yds and best for high and mid handicappers but most of the par 4s and fives offer a challenge as do the long par threes. Many of teh holes have high greens and uneven lies and thus one must hit straight and long for birdies or pars. Dinsmore is a very good place to hone one''s skills and the view of the Catskill Mountains from the parking lot high above the course is worth a trip up the Hudson Valley by itself.
