Shoots in the 90s
Nice course but very overrated. Tall Grass is a much better layout though the conditions are about the same. Too many gimmicky short par 4's. Greens are on the small side. Ionly paid $45 with an ezlinks.com special but the regular rate is $79. Again if you are looking for a wide open "links style" layout play Tall Grass. Customer Service Starter was very nice. Pace of play wasn't too bad for a midweek round. Bar only has four beers on tap. Similar Products Used: Tall Grass

Shoots in the 90s
Driving about 1 1/2 hours from Queens to Eastern LI to play golf on a $90 course, I must say that my expectations for LI National were very high. The clubouse and facilities seem to be worth the $90 (I would not know never paying this much before). The course is very nice and much more difficult from tee to green than it looks. Tall grass is a bit-ch to hit out of and the greens were lightning fast. The experience was enjoyable, but couldn't help but feel i was overpaying. If your'e looking for a Links Course I would say that Mill Pond is comparable to LI National, and $30-$40 less! |

This course was in excellent shape. From the driving range to tees to fairways to greens, everything was green and lush. Although the greens fees during peak times are pricey, the after hours rates, $60, make this place very affordable and enjoyable. It is obviously a hot destination, Mayor Giuliani was playing the day I played. Similar Products Used: The staff was extremely accomodating and helpful. |
