Shoots in the 90s

Played two weeks ago and the course conditions were beautiful. Very few divot marks to begin the season and it was in great shape. The greens were slow but predictable but I'm sure that will change when they get aerated. The Red course is a reasonable challenge that rewards good shots with trees/shrubbery lining the fairways (no water). You can use your driver often but there are a few sand traps. The rough is not tough at all. The terrain is flat to rolling but not punishing for a good walk.

Customer Service

It is kind of a laid back small operation but they are completing a renovation with upgraded/enlarged restroom facilities (they are open). The employees were all pleasent and helpful.

Shoots in the 90s

I saw the reviews for this course weren't great, and I had to throw my two cents in. For a public course, with lots of traffic, this is a great course. It's not overly challenging, but there are enough challenges to make shot selection a priority. It certainly isn't an open plain. I think the other reviews are a little old, as the course was in great shape for this time of year (late April) and the pace was good. We only had to wait for the group in front of us on the 18th hole. Other than that, no one was pressuring us, and we were always a shot or two behind the group in front. For $29 it's a steel to play this course. I say if you're a budget golfer looking for a decent course, or if you just want to play something different, try this course out. Though in fairness, when speaking with the staff I was told that in the height of summer there is a lot of traffic, and particularly by those who don't respect the course, which is always a shame. But at least in Spring and Fall, and likely at the right time during the summer, this is a fun place to play. I think the other reviewers were correct in assessing this course as a good intermediate level course, though anyone could play it and have a good time.

Shoots in the 90s

Sunken Meadow is a descent New York State course. It seems as if it has lost funding to fellow State Courses like Bethpage and Montauk Downs. I dont understant why those courses are in perfect shape while Sunken Meadow is not. All in all, a solid course that is great for intermediates. Offers hills, doglegs, bunkers guarding most of the Par3 Greens and narrow tree lined fairways on some of the 4's. Therefore, it is not an easy course. However, the lack of upkeep and maintenace deters me from playing there. In addition, Sunken Meadow has an abundant amount of senior citizens which can slow up play immensley!

Shoot in the 90s

These are 3 9-holes courses. They pick the courses to play that day. There is a lot of course management required here. Very well place fairway bunkers. No water holes. But you can lose a few balls in very wooded areas. Great for intermediates.
