Well-maintained, greens in good condition, unique course w/ plenty of trees & water. Some hazards created by protected wetlands, w/ diverse wildlife. a number of interesing holes (in particular, the 4th, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, and 17th). surprisingly challenging, given the length.

The back 9 is quite short. the 2nd hole is weak and awkward and is often in poor condition. slow play on the weekends in peak season. the play is best in the spring and fall.

In my view, easily the best course in Buffalo for under $20. The course is generally well-maintained (though as other reviewers have noted, there is one hole in particular that gets excessively soggy after spring rains) and has a number of interesting features. A nice combination of long and short holes w/ varying degrees of difficulty.

Long, narrow approaches on the front. Monster 8th hole is a hidden gem, 480+ par 4 with a pond protecting the green on the right at about 460. Green fees are reasonable, some specials make it a great value. Plenty of water, trees and bunkers.

Back may play too short-- the par 5 10th is shorter than the par 4 8th, with none of the hazzards. Shooting 6 or 7 strokes less on the back is not unusual. The course has drainage problems, and is often very wet, with fairways killing drives. For some reason there is a tendency for a hole or two to be torn up now and then. People living in Buffalo have to pay 50 cent toll on the bridge to get to the island.

Good value in Buffalo. Tough front, short back evens things out. Sometimes not maintained well enough, and there are drainage problems that make the course a marsh in the spring and after heavy rains.

Customer Service

Generally friendly. Lots of good people working there. Sometimes the starter leaves gaps on the course talking your ear off, but that can be charming.
