A wonderful classically designed RTJ jr course. As with most of his courses water comes into play and more than anything there is the placement of sand bunkers on the approach shots. The water here is not a big factor. This course is very, very open and to get into the water you really need to have a very poor swing. Conditions are good. Much, much better than your average muni. Perhaps not quite excellent. The tee lengths here range from over 7,000 to 56000 for the reds with four sets of tees. You should be able to find a length for you. This is a wonderful course and well worth playing. I found the GPS on the carts to be very useful. It is accurate for both distances and description of the hole.

Nice design. Not really difficult for it's length. Course condition was pretty good with the exception of a couple of areas needing attention on the greens. Bunkers still seem to retain water, you can find a wide range of conditions from mud to powder. Played this course a couple of years ago and it was horrible, so it's doing better.

Probably the area needing most improvement. Pro shop attendant seemed like he would rather be home in bed, starter very friendly. Lack of valet to unload bag from car or to offer to clean clubs after 18 was odd for the price of the course. They charge for everything here. No range balls with round, no water in the cooler on the cart ($1 per bottle)and seeing the beverage cart once in 18 holes on a 95 degree day was just annoying. (the attendant was covering two courses, public and private). The GPS in the cart didn't work, so we asked for another cart. That GPS didn't work either.

Lakes Course is a great design with conditions you find on a muni course. Play here a couple times a month and have seen deplorable conditions April thru August and excellent conditions August thru November. For the $100 green fee you would expect to find alot of service perks, but the lack of range balls, broken GPS in the cart, closed snack bar, infrequent beverage cart apperance and what appears to be total lack of concern by the operators detracts from the experience. Lower the rate to the $65 range and you have a winner, but at $100 (during the week) it's totally out of bounds. Slow round, in the 5+ hour range.

course gets lots of tournament play and can be slow at times.

The course has matured nicely and the greens are fair and fast. All of the par 3s are long and must carry water or wetlands (hackers bring extra balls). Lots of bunkers and a couple of hugely undulating greens. A nice contrast is the private course which is more links style.

Can't really think of any. Rather dull course.

Bunkers are either full of water or very wet, even in the afternoon.

Price/play ratio is out of whack. Charged $95.00 and did not include range balls. Bunkers don't drain and are full of water. This is a muni track and not worth the money unless you can get a $40.00 rate. Greens are full of humps and bumps and they use pin placements (on top of the humps and on the edge of the bumps) to create difficulty. Fairways are wide. Course favors a fade. For the money, Arrow Creek is a much better deal.
