Shoots in the 90s

The course has seen some improvements, such as new sod in some of the tee boxes, however, the course is still pretty shoddy. Greens and fairways are poorly maintained and inconsistant.
The staff tries to do their best despite the lack of support from the ciy of Reno. There are better deals to be found in the Renoe/Tahoe area. The city politicians have dropped the ball on this once respectable golf course. Terrible management on their part. Reno has class... all third.

We play rosewood twice a week, Its been
in bad shape, but now that the front nine
is back open,it is coming back into good
shape.
It makes you play smart golf,if you try
to go out and hit long woods, you had
better be accurate or it will eat you
alive.
for the money its as good as it gets
in Reno

I'm in complete agreement with mafeeley. This course has gone to pot! Most greens have large dead areas. Fairways and tee boxes are just plain ugly. Still a nice target layout.

If you are looking for a Muni price. Washoe is good, Sierra Sage is fair, Northgate is not good (condition) but is better than Rosewood. There was a time when this course had very nice conditions. (But not for the past few years.)

Rosewood Lakes has gone down hill with a vengeance. The greens are horrible, bumpy, bouncy and chewed up. The tees are equally horrendous. The fairways are extremely poorly maintained, I, as well as many friends have lost balls right in the middle of the fairway. This course would be fine if the fees were reasonable, but 45.00 and 35.00 for twilight at 2:00 p.m. is outrageous. Silver Oaks is much better as well as Northgate and both are the same price as Rosewood Lakes. I would give this course 1.5 out of 5.

Shoot in the 80s

Having lived in Reno at one time I had plenty of opportunities to play this course. Even during "horrible" rounds it was hard to not enjoy yourself. The tee boxes and greens were always in great shape, and for the price, it can't be beat. Having some knowledge of the course is definitely helpful and you will have to leave your driver in the bag on several holes. With the wetlands surrounding every fairway you had best not hit any bad shots.

Shoot in the 80s

I know this is an over-used term, but target golf is essential here. The course is built in a wetland (swamp) area and all balls hit out of the fairway are out of bounds. You are not allowed to retrieve them. You would not be able to find them anyway. One must play this course a few times to figure it out. It really rewards the good short game player. There is a good deal of water on almost all holes. The course is in good condition in the spring, summer and fall. Winter is cold. The greens are top notch for a muni course. This course sees a lot of play especially on the weekends.
