This place is extremely overrated and more importantly overpriced. This is a $50 course back east. I was so excited to play in Vegas and have never left a course more disappointed in my life. The course and conditions are nothing special or memorable. Stay away! Customer Service The service was not bad, but after feeling like you been pick pocketed I just wanted to get out of their. Skip this place. Much better golf available for the money. Customer Service Really poor experience. I had to rent clubs since I was traveling on vacation, no big deal here, I've rented clubs all over the country and much more expensive courses than this. I felt for $200/round, plus $65 for the clubs and shoes, they could maybe provide a sleeve of balls and a glove, but no, not here. They expect you to buy balls and a glove and seemed to have no real regrets about that when I inquire as to why they don't feel the need to match common courtesies of other courses that provide those items with rental clubs. Nothing but attitude here from the pro shop staff. Then there's the cart and forecaddie. The $200 / round DI NOT even include a cart fee, which was a surpride additional $35...THEN to add insult to that, you are provided with a forecaddie regardless of whether you want him or not, this person goes out with each foresome and they were even rude enough to state to me that the MINIMUM tip for the forecaddie is $25, but more is "common"....Now, I never asked for a forecaddie, nor does this course demand one, why? Because it's WIDE OPEN and relatuvely flat, PLUS you get yardage books which show you ever detail of the course....A real rip-off and I think. Similar Products Used: The driving range for this "high end" course wannabe does not provide you any tees, and since I was renting clubs, of course they DI NOT provide me any tees, I had to buy those too...but of course I did not know that until I drove all the way to the range to discover I had no tees there or in the rental bag...Total rip-off and really poor attention to the little details that help courses succeed or fail in such a competitive world now...This course sucks and I would not recommend anyone spending their money here. Oh Yeh, and the difficulty is WAY overblown, this was my first round of the year and I did'nt lose a single ball, there's not one water hole on the course. |

If you like Las Vegas (lots of glitter but no substance) you will like this one. Instead of the ocean and salt air, you have a water purification plant (and several other "factories" upwind across the street. Lot of attention when you pull in...valet parking only I guess. Club house is really tacky...pure LV. Have a dude walking around playing bagpipes while you''re breathing the "fresh" air from across the road...atmosphere plus! Have to admit the golf was fun...don''t even think about playing without a caddy. (Thanks Deke..you saved me at least 10 strokes). Birdied Postage Stamp and a couple others. The bunkers are lethal...a fun new experience...but for two hundred bucks +...dig yourself an 8 foot deep fox hole...dump in a foot or two of sand and whale away. You just can''t take all of the history, and smells, and sights, and sounds, and tradition and stick it in an Industrial Park in East Las Vegas and consider it worth $200+. Barnum would love it. Customer Service Ask for Deke(caddy) and pay him well. The guy is a pro. Similar Products Used: I can park my own car. Guess paying a tip always make things seem a bit more classy. |

I''m a single-digit handicapper that likes to be spoiled by a golf club and course. The 45-minute drive to Royal Links from the Vegas strip, the small and fairly ordinary club house, and the hefty fees ($175) combined at first to put doubt in my mind that this was a good idea. The well-manicured range helped ease the mind and put aside any negative thoughts as I approached the 1st tee. The course? Well, I had heard that every hole on the course was modeled after a famous British Open hole and I figured that this was my chance to experience links golf without going to England. What did not cross my mind was that in order for a golf hole to be a famous British Open hole, it had to be cut from one of the toughest courses in Great Britain AND it probably had to be among of the toughest holes in Great Britain. If it wasn''t, well, then, it wouldn''t be famous. Sure enough, the course was brutally tough. 18 of the toughest British Open holes in history stacked in succession. Somehow, to give you the extra feel of links golf, the designers even figured out how to set this course on the windiest plot of land in Nevada (or at least it seemed that way). Despite the raw weather, blustery winds, and all the nastiness (pot bunkers, rock hard terrain, and gnarly rough) that makes a British Open course so tough, I freakin'' loved it! I parred The Postage Stamp while hitting with a 25-mph wind at my back, I quadruple-bogeyed The Road Hole because I couldn''t get out of the greenside bunker, and I managed only a single birdie along the way. The course was very well conditioned from tee to green, and the track was absolutely memorable. As my playing partner and I enjoyed a very tasty sandwich in the clubhouse after the round and reminisced about our eventful morning, the sun peeked through and lit up the course outside. I was inspired... off to the range I went and then onto the 1st tee to avenge my morning score. Customer Service Satisfactory. Not bad, not super good.
