Shoots in the 70s
Grandpa's Woods is a great course. I have played this course every summer and during golf season, and it is impossible to master. Each day presents a new challenge with each hole. There are tough greens on No. 3 and 9. 3 is a drastically sloping green that makes putting nearly impossible. 9 has a huge plateau that makes putting and placement of the ball difficult Customer Service WONDERFUL!! Shoot in the 90s
Grandpa's Woods is just a fun course. There is nothing pretentious about it at all. Mostly just a bunch of rural Nebraska folk out for a good time. I played there 3 out of 4 Sunday mornings for over two years. The course is really nothing to look at compared to other better manicured courses, but it has what many courses long for - character. With only 3 par 4's, it is pretty short. The longest is the No 1 at 285 yds. (watch out for anything right, it's over the road, in the corn, and OB). What make this such a fun course is the unexpected challenges. No 5 is a par 3 and, by the card, should be pretty easy. Only one problem, it is a good 50' down hill in elevation from tee to green. Again, no big deal until you take the overhanging trees (read tunnel) into account. "If" the tees are back far enough, you "might" get over them and stop the ball on the green. Oh, by the way, anything over the green or right is in the creek that runs through the middle of the course. Best strategy is some kind of punch shot that you can roll onto the green. Not as easy as it looks on paper. Customer Service Freindly and flexible staff. Similar Products Used: Decent snack bar. |
