Played this course on 5/13/06 and was very impressed with the course and very unimpressed with the staff and quality of service that we received. Regardless of the weather... you should always take care of your golfers (customers) because we are your cheapest and best form of advertisement!

1st off, we played on a rainy & icky day. We went into the clubhouse to pay our $38 and get our cart as stated on the LMG website for the above stated fee. Upon payment, we were informed that there would be NO carts today because of the rain. That's fine, but why are we still paying $38 and given no partial refund for the cart, a free bucket of range balls, or something else to make up for the differece? Instead, we were basically asked for our money by the lady (who has little or no golf knowledge) and sent on our unhappy way in the rain, with as little as a 'thank you.'

We then get to the #1 green where we are about to putt out, and we see two older gentlemen playing behind us in there speedy golf cart! My playing partner pulls out his phone and asks what's going on? After they refused to send one of the MANY kids or any other member of the staff, that we saw all over the range working there on this day, we were informed by the lady, that this was impossible since she was the only one working! Huh? So, we both walk back to the clubhouse to get the cart that we originally paid for and played our soggy round of golf.

The course itself is the strong point and is a mixed bag for any golfer. The greens were in nice shape but people... PLEASE start repairing your divots on the greens for Christ sake! The course has some challenging dogtail holes, and some very challenging long par 3's that will make you really think what iron to hit. The 'island' par 3 hole is one of the nicer par 3 holes that you'll play in Minnesota even though you have tons of highway noise right beside you off the tee.

All in all, the course is really nice and well maintained but the staff is clueless. Like one of the other posters stated... they are of little help and there only real function is to basically take your money. If this course ever addresses there clubhouse staff/customer service issues, this just might be one of the better courses that you will play in the Twin Cities area and one of the best to play if your a single.

Emerald Greens is a fantastic golf course with great pricing. They have 4 distinct 9 hole course with 4 sets of tees. The course can play over 7000 yards from the blues and 6800+ yards from the whites. Needless to say this is a major challenge for your average golfer.

The management continues to improve the course by adding hundreds of new trees this year as well as starting a major clubhouse expansion.

The fairways are always in top notch shape as are the greens. Water comes into play on nearly half of the holes, highlighted by the hole #6 island green on the Platinum nine. This 140 yard hole is a reached via an elevated tee and a VERY accurate tee shot to a moderate sized green. There are a number of other exceptional holes too that both manage to reward thse that are willing to take a little risk, but not punish those that play shorter and keep the ball in play. Perhaps the one exception to that is the 600+ yard par 5 on the Platinum nine and the 450+ yard par 4 on the Platinum nine. Those are a struggle for a scratch golfer, much less a weekend hack.

In addition to the 4 nines, Emerald Greens also has 3hole practice station. This is a great way to warmup for your round.

All in all I would highly recommend this course. The pace of play is good and the conditions are always excellent.

Customer Service

The customer service is always good here. I'm a new member and after 2 weeks they already greet me by name in the pro shop.

The rangers are also very good at keeping the pace of play moving along as well as being extremely friendly.
