Given the economy, you'd think Copper Hills would at least have senior rates on wkends-but no. So the price is a bit high for what you get.(even weekdays they are higher than average) The tee boxes were not well maintained. There are NO ball washers anywhere. There are areas under re/construction but you won't know that until you get there. Even better-the distances listed on the score cards as well as at each tee are incorrect. Nothing is accurate. The views are nice but there are many courses in SE MI that have good views for far less cost. The Hill course is lousy. Avoid it at all costs. I don't know of too many golfers who can actually shoot par on #9 on the Hill.

Customer Service

Starter was pleasant but could have informed us of areas under construction; inaccurate distances, etc. Pro shop person was not helpful at all. Had a discount coupon which had been extended by the manager but I did not bring the email from the manage-no notes in pro shop so I could not use my $10 off. Now, a place which is charging 50 bucks a round could perhaps leave a note indicating the agreement. Clubhouse is a trailer w/o much merchandise.

Just a little information and a round at this course would be a blast. Instead, you get a golf card -sometimes a sign that gives you distance from tee to 150 stake...which you sometimes can't even see from the tee- and that's about it. Blind shots abound. You're never sure of a safe route. A course of this stature should have a book in the cart or GPS to help. The fairways had strips of mowed grass all over them and some greens were fast while others were very slow. Very inconsistent and not fair if you've never played here before.

Customer Service

Not much in the clubhouse if you needed anything. No lie...three pairs of shorts...a coupla packs of smokes...and 4 golf gloves(all in the same size.) The guy who took my money was nice enough. So was the Starter.

A really enjoyable golf course for the better golfer. This course has some tight holes and some open ones. It has lots of elevation changes and has several holes that would definitely be considered "target golf" where you hit over hazards into landing areas off the tee. I think they rated this course perfectly with a moderate course rating but a very high slope rating. Good golfers with good command of their shots should play pretty well and really enjoy the course. Bogey or higher golfers may really have trouble with this course due to the variety of shots that need to be hit and the many carries over trouble. My foursome for the day had 2 single digit handicappers and two double digit handicappers. Myself and the other single digit handicapper had "normal" scores on this course. The two other guys had some real trouble with penalty shots and both ended up 10+ shots higher than they normall shoot.

Customer Service

Adequate.

Shoot in the 70s

I first played this course last year in some pretty frigid temps. It was in March 2000 and my brother and I went here for the 2nd time out for the year. After having some coffee and dressing up like I was snowmobiling I didn't expect to have the best round in the world. My brother and I who are both around 4 handicaps decided to play in the frigid temps from the tips. Wrong idea on this day. A long drive consisted of maybe 250 yds.

The first hole you think being a par 5 would get you off to a great start. We both bogied that hole. #2-6 fairly straight-forward holes. The best thing about the course is the scenery and the elevation changes throughout. Have been here now 4 times and look forward to the new league here that a buddy and I got into for 2001 season. Interesting fact is that this course has the highest slope rating of any course in Michigan if played from the tips!

If you want to play a premimium course for a good value and don't want to spend 3-4 hrs driving north play this one. Not only does it rival the scenery but you'll save some money and car sickness.
