I played this course in 2010 with my then 12 year-old son and you're spot on: it's a hard course to score on. Not so much about length, but layout (par 3s are hit the green or die - double bog). I liked aobut 1/2 of the course's holes so I would not recommend playing here. Go to Antrim Dells if you're looking for a good experience at a reasonable rate. See review of that course

ive played marsh ridge four times now and have spent two nights at the resort. i enjoy the course but for some reason have yet to play a good round on it. condition is always good and greens are kept well too. i seem to always get in trouble off the tee here though and if your off with your driver there are lots of very tall trees to manuever around.
the par 3's are tough here, if you dont hit the green theres a good chance your o.b. take a little more club because if your short your in trouble. a few other nice holes as well, not to much water here becuase the marshland comes into play on many holes although when i went it was pretty much all dried up.
the hotel rooms were good enough, clean and roomy - pretty much all you need.

good value here check it out if your in the area but dont plan your whole trip around this one.

average. i stayed here with 25 others and were supposed to have access to the practice area and range balls but somehow they ran out of range balls and no one could hit balls before our round. the food is average as well, not much to the breakfast but the turkey sandwich i had for lunch was good although the waitress was rude.
