Point o' Woods, annual home of the WGA Western Amateur Championships, is the quintessential classic course. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. has created a masterpiece of midwestern golf. Each hole is fair but strong. Long par fours and par threes are complimented by short par five. Tee shots are demanding. Players who can shape their shots will enjoy the risk/reward features of each tee shot. Players need to plan all their approach shots to be in the correct quandrant of the large, sloped greens.

This scenic course is lined with towering trees that definately come into play. Recovery from the trees is not out of the question. Fairway and greenside bunkering frame shots nicely. This wonderful old course is appropriately called the Augusta of the North.
