A great experience. Schedule a trip and pick out a sunny day to enjoy the views. The course gets better as you proceed thru the holes.

From the moment you drive up to the course your treated with spectacular views abound. I will tell you when a friend suggest we play this course in Sept. of this year I was weary only because of the twilight rates being $95 and the possibility of not being able to finish. Once we hit a few balls, bought a golf towel and hit the range I knew this was going to be special even if we didn''t finish all 18 holes. We started off on the par 5 1st hole being paired up with a couple of nice guys we didn''t know and one gentleman brought along his girlfriend to ride along just for the views. By the time we teed off I was feeling like my game was not up to "par" based on the way I was hitting it on the range. After a somewhat benign 1st and 2nd hole I found myself 1 under after 2 holes, not bad so far. The 3rd hole going back towards the water and some spectacular views! So at this point I had made my mind up that it doesn''t matter what I shoot I was enjoying the best views of any course I had ever played. To my amazement by the time we were on the 5th hole I was still 1under par. Finish with a plus 4 after 9 holes. Happy with the views, score and pace of play for the most part. Back nine wind was howling and my score started to steadily climb. I didn''t care! Finished last hole in the dark with a par. Shot 85 for the day and was thrilled just to have played. I will tell you that if you tend to spray the ball you can be perched 50-75 ft up on a huge grassy sand bluff above the fairway! Have fun, enjoy the views and limit your mistakes. Bring a great short game and everything else will come together. Played relatively easy off the tees but the greens and the chipping areas are were most of the people struggled. I was rolling the rock extremely well. Sit back relax and forget about your score. I did and had a great time.

Arcadia Bluffs is a fantastic golf course with very few weaknesses. The fall twilight rate for our round was $95 and we all got our money''s worth. I''m not sure I''d pay the summer daytime rate of $150, but others may differ. :-) The course is tough, but fair . . . from tee to green. Some of the greens are a little much in terms of tiers and severity of the tiering. Of course pin placements make a difference too and the day we played there were a few locations that were particularly sadistic. I''m a reasonable putter and took 41 putts for the day at Arcadia, including six 3-putt greens. But, despite the difficult greens, you can score there. Everyone in our group was within a few shots of their season average in our first trip around. The fairways are generous with decent landing areas on many holes. You can afford to hit driver quite a bit.

Customer Service

Very nice. Folks in the pro shop were friendly and helpful.

Nice practice facility with a couple of big putting and chipping greens, but range balls are not included with the round. This is a pet peeve of mine. For $95 (or $150 in the summer) I''d like to se

Great course with fantastic views. I have played top courses in Florida,Myrtle Beach,Tennesee, and many other states but this one is my favorite. Played it three days in a row. The two early tee times were 4 1/2 hour rounds with the 3:00 tee time taking 5 1/2 hours.

Customer Service

I had read some bad reviews about the staff but they treated us great.

Without a doubt this is one of the finest courses in the world. Wonderful views, challenging track without gimmicks, requires decent shot making but not target golf. The back nine is more dramatic and challenging than the front, but the front is more than enough for all but the very best. Don''t miss this one.

Customer Service

Great Attitude. Friendly, helpful and professional.

A true links golf course - not some imitation but the real deal. The course is built on bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan creating spectacular views of the Lake and the rocks and sand dunes below. The course is long, over 7200 from the back tees. The middle tees are about 6500. You get to create shots made famous in the British Open, long bump and runs, red hot long irons under the wind and very long putts. The landing areas off the tee are very generous - giving one a fighting chance for a good score. There are sodded deep sand bunkers in the middle of a couple of fairways that will force you to play backwards to get out. The fairways and greens were in terrific condition when I played in late May 2000. Hole #9 is the signature hole - a par 3 from one bluff over rocks and sand to another bluff with the wind howling in your face off Lake Michigan. All in all it is easily one of the top courses in the entire country.

Customer Service

Very nice people in the pro shop.

I've played around the world and this is in the top five with respect to beauty. Really Really superb layout. The downside is that they give you this big lecture about pace of play and then they don't enforce it. I suspect many players use tees that are too difficult for their skills. We ran into the group ahead after 5 holes and it took 5 hours to get around. I've heard it was worse last year (2000). Still I'de go back in a New York second, especially in mid week when it "might" not be so crowded.

GPS on carts with larger scale contour maps of the greens. Neat! Pro shop was closed when we finished our round at 9 PM. Dumb! I wanted to spend money!

I played here 5/19/2001, conditions were sunny and 65. It was sunny and 65, with a *very* light wind, so we really lucked out.(Others I know have played here in a 3-club wind)

Right away, all in our group were amazed at the spectacular views from almost all points on every hole. Unbelievable!

The course was in good shape, but not quite what I had expected. Maybe it was just early in the season, or maybe I just had unreal expectations. The greens didn't look visibly perfect, yet they rolled fast and true. Never once did anyone gripe that the course conditions made anything unfair. No one could get over how great the hole layouts were, or how wonderful the views were, to even think about complaining (while we were playing)

Customer Service

This was the one downer about the day. From the staff in the office, to the Starter, to the rangers, we were made to feel as if we were "priviliged" to have the opportunity to pay the course upwards of $1000 (for our group of 8). The clubhouse staff seemed to look 'down' at us. Perhaps we didn't look rich enough? Yes, the course is out of this world, but without paying customers, they don't have much.
