Shoots in the 80s

Played 7/4/04.....worst $72 I have spent...sorry $144...my wife played. Course is alright, but it is a $45 facility. No clubhouse (it has only been open close to a decade), no ball washers, incorrect yardage markers (if any at all on the holes), par 3's from the blues that are 120yds......are you kidding me !!!!! No hole numbers on the holes, no diagrams of the holes other than the scorecard, no snack cart, no range balls included (if they were the guy in the trailer never mentioned them). Basically, Shaker Hill is $65.....$7 less and literally 200% better facilty....has a pro shop, clubhouse, bar, correct yardage, etc. Hell there wasn't even a starter !!!!!! They let twosomes and singles off all day and they were up our ass all afternoon....gee the audacity because we brough them an entire foursome for $288!!!!! Never will I or anyone in my company play this place again. Horrible experience, they still living in their 1998 US Open qualifying round glory but their facilty is a joke a real JOKE !!!!! What did they do with my $72?

Customer Service

The only contact we had was the guy that took our money in the trailer....nothing after that...no snack cart no nothing!!!

This course is fun to play but not for the money being charged....the greens need improvement and the distances to the pin aren't clearly marked on sprinkler heads, landmarks etc.

A terrific course, very well maintained at all levels. Challenging layout, plays long for the average hitter with a few holes requiring layup if you can't carry the water hazards. Highly recommended.

Always in pretty good shape, nice fairways, greens could be better.

Customer Service

Do yourself a favor a don't bother with this course. Very nasty staff who will try to screw you anyway they can . Before you play , go to a search engine and enter "maplegate staff" and you will find many many bad reviews and other horror stories. I have never heard so many bad things about any one course. Next time you get paired with golfers you don't know ask them about maplegate and you'll see.

I really like this course. Great layout and well maintained. I've always enjoyed playing Maplegate. The marshes really make you plan for shot control and distance. I've lost many balls trying to carry the marshes.

Maintence of the course is excellent. I dont think I saw one water deprived spot of grass on the course. The greens and tees are in excellent condition. The bunkers are well placed and the course layout is wonderful.

Customer Service

Place is rather busy, so make tee times a day or more in advance. Employees are very welcoming.

Maplegate Country Club is a beautifully landscaped golf course. Aside from being well manicured, the course's design contributes to the course's difficulty. The waterfall on the eighth hole is a tremendous example of how design elements can create an extra demension to what, would otherwise be, an average par 3. To an avid golfer this course can present a challenging and unique experience. It, in my mind, is one of the better public courses in all New England.
