Since new ownership in 2008, this course is hands down, the best for the money. A little bird told me they new rollers for the course among other things. Whether it's $54 or cheaper, you can't get a better deal for the shape of the course!

Our group of travelling seniors plays GV about five times a year, most recently 6-19-07. Course is very FLAT, easily walkable, and a bit long (6368 from the whites). Design is fairly conventional, not too much water, but what there is does come into play. No seriously sneaky stuff, very straightforward. Conditions on 6-19-07: tee boxes, a little rougher than expected this early in the year, but generally OK: fairways were in excellent shape: bunkers were hard packed and needed power-raked: greens looked good, but had not been rolled for a while, so they were a bit inconsistent. The price is right: we paid $29 with the Tee Time book; senior rate is $31. Both prices are about right for this level of course. GV gets a lot of local play, and is the site of frequent outings, so call ahead for a tee time. Also, double-check directions, it is a bit out in the country, but worth the trip.

Customer Service

Course is now part of the Pure Golf empire, and that's a big improvement from Gotham and whoever had it before them. Pro shop staff is competent and quick, very efficient operation. Snack bar staff is always nice, and the only problem is that they don't sell drsft beer, only expensive canned stuff. Recommend you take the 19th hole activities to the Woodsboro Tavern up the road about a mile north, or the Walkersville Village Inn, two miles the other way.

Played here 6-19-07. Glade Valley is a nice "neighborhood" type course, with a lot of play from repeaters, and many outings. Our group of travelling seniors playes here four or five times a year, and the price is right at $29 with the Tee Time Book. Course is fairly flat, and walkable, very few hidden problems. Some water, but only comes into play on a few holes. A bit long, but fair. Conditions were good: tee boxes in decent shape; fairways very nice; bunkers a bit firm; greens uniformly slow, but consistent.

Customer Service

Pro shop staff is very good since Pure Golf took over management. Snck bar is OK, but limited in menu, and no draft beer...Boo, hiss. Go up the road to the Woodsboro Tavern for 19th hole activities.

All-in-all I didn''t like the course for the price. It seems like the rural area should offer cheaper golf. The views are great. The front nine is like a different course from the back. The front is narrow and the back is wide open.

Customer Service

Very good.

Shoot in the 90s

It's a nice Friday afternoon. The tournament in the morning just finished and I joined the afternoon crowds. I started at #10 and finished 4.5 hours later for the whole 18 holes. I've heard it would take 6 hours in the weekend, but apparantly it's not so bad in the weekdays.

The course is facinating. Design is beautiful. The greens are in fair condition but fast. Fairways aren't narrow and well maintained. There are several water hazards that would cost you stroks. I paid $26 with my Gotham membership, which is $10 off the regular weekday rate. It is worthwhile. I will play there again, but in the weekdays!

Customer Service

They'll take as many people as possible.
