Shoot in the 90s
This course is in a very nice wooded parkland setting and is a good layout, but the feel is very traditional and somewhat uninventive and could be improved. The problems are that it gets a lot of play and there is a lot of poa annua in the greens which makes them real bumpy. The back nine is real nice in spots and there are many good holes. The problems are that it is WAY too busy and there is always a lot of tension around the clubhouse with a lot of people trying to get tee times and there always seems to be an argument with the staff. The maintenance when I used to play there was abysmal. They would start to renovate a green or dig up a sprinkler head and it would stay like that for like, a year or more. They spend money to plant trees and wildflowers, but not enough on the course itself or the maintenance. The MNCP&PC doesn't have a clue as to how to run golf courses and should just contract it out. I have heard its gotten a lot better lately though although I can hardly believe it. There is also an executive course if you can't get on the big one. The range is nice, but the putting green always seemed to be closed and is too small. Similar Products Used: None |
