Shoots in the 90s
This is a great course that is typically in fantastic condition. The greens are usually in good shape, even in August after heavy use. The front is mostly flat and long, so it's bombs away! The back is more narrow in places with water to carry on second shots so placement off the tee is critical. It is almost like 2 different courses. Another point that a lot of courses seem to miss is keeping drinking water out on the course in the summer. Breton Bay does a good job of making sure the coolers have water in them. Customer Service Had a nightmare customer service issue that kept me away from the course for 3 years. Started playing again last year and there is a new pro and new staff so customer service is much much improved. Similar Products Used: The pro shop doesn't offer too much, and I've never eaten in the restaurant. I usually just pay my money, play my round and go home. |

A surprising find in Southern Maryland. Opening drive from very elevated tee leads you into a level but fun front nine. Plenty of room off the tee but fairway bunkers recently reworked keep it interesting. The par-5 9th climbs slowly up and along a ridge, returning you to higher ground. The back-9 features several par-4's over rolling terrain, with #16 requiring a long second shot over a deep chasm. The par-4 17th is almost driveable at 365-yds. playing downhill from a very elevated teebox. Designer is JP Gibson, the only course he built in Maryland. Credit is also claimed by Gary Player's design firm, who may have been associated with Gibson at some point. Customer Service Much improved from last visit several years earlier when pro was almost surly. |
