Since it is a resort course, early weekend tee times are hard to get. Since it is a resort course, not everyone rakes the traps, repairs ball marks, and sands divots. Did I mention the bear?

Maryland's only Jack Nicklaus designed course. Front 9 is cut through the trees, back 9 is more wide open. Be prepared to lose some golf balls if can't control your shots. The course is part of a State Park, and the areas between/beside/around the holes are left wild. Some of the wild areas have been marked as hazards now so you do not have to hit another shot from the tee. Expect to see all sorts of wildlife from squirrels to the resident bear. Rocky Gap is only 2 hours west of the Baltimore/Washington DC metro area.
