Great staff, excellent county run course that will test your skills. Lots of blind shots. You can have a shot that's close to the fairway, but lose it because who knows where it went over the hill. lay with someoen that knows the course. If you're in the area, save your money and play this over PB Dye or Worthington Manor.

Customer Service

always nice. they're even getting better about hassling people to finish around sunset

I got to play one round at Little Bennett G.C. in Maryland this past weekend. They just hosted the Kemper Qualifier last week so the course was in great shape.

First and foremost, the greens are absolutely crazy. They must have been rolling close to 12 on the stimp. Any putt not below the hole was BIG trouble. Even well struck shots within a couple of feet of the pin were not easy putts. One of my playing partners 4 putted 2 greens in a row b/c the cups were on the side of hills.

Overall, the course is pretty short. I only had the chance to use driver twice. Fairways were fantastic as were the bunkers.

You really have to play this course a couple of times b/f you will know what club to use off the tee. There are a few blind tee shots which are tricky. Most of the par 3's are all down hill, anywhere from 1 - 2 clubs less on some.

Overall, I enjoyed the course but wish the greens weren't so fast. I had 36 putts (which is only about 3 more than I normally have on any course) but it could have been worse if not for 3 real good chips that I almost holed out and left tap in putts.

You have to be below the hole in order to have any chance on this course and leave the driver in the car. There is no need for it.

Conditions: 8/10 (1 off for greens too fast and 1 off for not enough trees on the course)
Value: 8/10 (over $50 with cart was a little steep for this area of Maryland but relative to New Jersey/New York greens fees, it was acceptable)
Clubhouse and Staff: 9/10 (Clubhouse was nice and the rangers were friendly)

This course is an Arnold Schwarzenneger of courses. It is hilly with big broad shoulders, a lot of blind approaches, difficult greens, forced carries, etc. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It is not real long, but that doesn't mean it's not difficult. It adds 5-8 strokes to my score compared with just about every other course I play and keeps my handicap at 17. If I stopped playing it, my handicap would go down to a 13-14 probably. The clubhouse is big and beautiful and looks so nice sitting up on the hill there. You are aiming at Sugarloaf mtn. on a number of drives. They have a very large grass range (like 180 yards long and 30 yds. wide). There are 3 practice greens for chipping, pitching, putting. I have heard that the pro is fantastic. I just can't say enough good things about the course. The conditioning is Very Good as well. It costs about $35 walking. One note about the walking... it's not for the faint of heart. The hills are BIIIIIGGGGG. The distances from green to tee are long too. Still, I love to walk it but try to hitch a ride up and down the big hills. Michael Hurdzan did a lot with this very challenging layout.

Customer Service
