Quarry Stone Golf Course (formerly Chanute Country Club) is a good test of golf. With 9 holes and 36 separate tees for men and women, this Par 71 course has lots of trees positioned in just the wrong place some times. It is more important to have accurate tee shots than long ones on the par fours. And with the prominent south winds, the par threes can often give a player some interesting bounces. Over the green on #5 is not good.

When the wind is in the south, as it usually is, number 9 on Q.S. is one of the most interesting holes around. The player crosses the water twice before getting to the green, and often has to deal with it to the right if a fade turns into a slice. Accuracy off the tee can mean the differnce between par and bogey.

Number 3 plays as a lengthy par 4 on the front and a short par 5 on the back. If you're tempted to go for the green in two, don't be long or you're in the water -- there's no room for error here.

Don't be fooled by Number 6. It looks easy, and it is, with a good tee shot. Take my advice -- hit the fairway on number six.
