Agree with all comments below. Back nine softend by Pete Dye Associaites group several years ago to make it more open. It is still tight back nine but more playable. Water on 5 holes on back.
Customer Service Excellent, food served quickly between nines, all HD TVs, beverage cart on weekends, Similar Products Used: Front nine...classic Florida courses |

The course is difficult if you get in the long rough. Trees reaching into the fairways can hurt nice drives. |

Brown Deer is the type of course which requires good placement of the golf ball. Hitting the fairway is not always good enough. Because of the course's large and old trees, hitting the incorrect part of the fairway can leave you with no shot to the green. Golf courses are setup where you are required to have a strong tee shot or strong approach shots. Brown Deer favors the accurate driver, but also requires a good iron game. The course is always kept in great shape. The fairways are cut to a perfect height and the rough is left on the longer side. It is almost left where the professionals play it and penalizes a poor shot. The greens are very reasonable, but still have plenty of break in them. They always roll true, if you hit a good putt, you will be rewarded. I play Brown Deer often and it is a great place to develop ones overall game. Very beautiful, challenging, yet fun course. Many different styles of holes presented. Many water hazards located on the course add to challenge. Customer Service Good. Similar Products Used: Restaurant |

The course if very nice and is kept in great shape! The course does tend to play a little tough though due to extra long holes and some very sloped greens. Since most of the holes pose some kind of water hazard, it raises the chances of losing a good amount of balls if you're not careful. I think this course suits more polished golfers due to its difficulty but can also be a good test for amateurs. Customer Service Let you play in any weather...never worried that you might "tear up" the greens/fairways. Very nice when you live in Iowa where the weather is never perfect!
