An OK course. It will be crowded. The conditions will be average. Off the fairway if dry & hard. The greens will be in pretty good shape, they are bent grass. It is a tough layout for the higher handicapper. If you don't know where else to go, come here. You can easily find better values around town. The proshop is extensive and the fitting facilities are great. But again, they are so busy that you can feel like a cattle being herded along...

Where to start... I hadn't played this course for a few years even though it's less than 5 miles from my home. I know it's going to be crowded. I went back over the summer and it was possibly the scariest 18 holes I've played. I played with a couple employees. The first hole, I drove the ball off the tee and somebody in a cart cut right across the fairway. I nearly hit them. When they got to their ball they hit it right at us, landing on the tee box. The employee said "RedTail's finest". I think I was almost hit about 5 times (not one "FORE"). There's an actual warning on the scorecard that you may get injured from errant shots.
The sixth hole was guarded by a pack of the meanest geese I've ever encountered. I landed the ball on the green next to one. He just looked at the ball and then me and didn't move. I think he crapped on my ball!!
The course was CROWDED to say the least. The fact that they can keep it playable with any semblence of green is a miracle but, in fact, they keep the fairways and greens decent. Layout is fine and course offers some challenges. Yeah, I snowmanned the 7th. I think some of the other reviews are overhyping this course.
Overall, I enjoyed the course but don't think my insurance will cover me playing there for a while.

Practice facilities are nice. Driving range is two-tiered off mats with plenty of spots. There are, I think, three practice greens which equate pretty well to playing conditions.

Customer Service

All are young college aged kids but they are usually friendly and willing to help.

One of the nicest and most challenging muni's I've ever played. Course is usually in beautiful shape. Undulating greens can be very tough and add some difficulty to most holes, even the straight forward ones. Still plenty of oppurtunities to score if you place the ball well and putt decently. Nice views. Best value around, plays like a $80 semi-private course.

Customer Service

Nice and helpful staff. Freindly and can usually get you out. They need more (and agressive) marshals during peak summer times as course can play slow due to volume and difficulty.

Played in early spring so some soft spots and the greens were not in the best shape (really slow and bumpy) Located behind one of the largest malls in the area it gets a lot of play. I was impressed with the maintenance facility, it was clean and the equipment was all new and well kept I would wager the course is well kept during the season. First holes are nice and easy but things start getting a lot tougher at #7 and the back nine can kick your butt. Very intresting track.

Straight forward layout with some surpise challenges. Very popular course since it's smack in middle of busy neighborhood. The course is basically fairly new (changed since it was Progress Downs). Narrow fairways in a couple of spots. Greens are a bit inconsistent.

Customer Service

Friendly staff. A bit rude on phone sometimes, but in person, they're nicer.

Excellent range facilities... but drainage on the range isn't so good.
