Waikoloa has two courses. Kings and Beach.
Beach - Most folks say the like the Kings course better, but I prefer the Beach. Not because it has a signature course on the water, but because the holes away from the ocean have more character. Like typical HI courses the wind is large factor. The earlier you get out, the less it blows. Greens are always hard to read at first because of the grain. I have played this course 4 times and enjoy it quite a bit. Range is solid (but requires a cart to get to). The restaurant at the course (believe it or not) is one of the best in Waikoloa. Come back for dinner. Knock your socks off.
Kings = similar in quality, but maybe not as interesting. Has it's own range. Right between the club house and the number 1 tee.
VALUE = Play one in the morning and get a replay rate at the other in the afternoon.
Both of these courses are usually easy to get on. (although I have never played them at Christmas)
BUNKERS = Another review said the bunkers are "gravelly". They have fixed that at the Beach. Not sure if they have yet at the Kings.

Customer Service

Service is very good at both courses. The help there is generally bored so they are looking to help you out.

An adjacent course is the Mauna Lani North an South. Much more costly, but also a little better. South has a very famous signature hole

Lovely looking course, certainly one for the scenery lovers - which should be most Hawaiian bound golfers. Good selection of tees on offer. Fairway grass has spongy feel to it, easy to get under the ball. Coral sand (ie gravel) bunkers a bit of a shame and is the only real downpoint if I'm being picky. Half price "twilight" round offered from 2pm - plenty of time to finish so go for that for a good value round on a well kept course. Just try to keep your eyes off the views! Great customer service worth a mention.
