The strength of the course is really between holes 6 thru 14, featuring several testing par-4's, a long par-3 (#11, at 229 yards), and a picturesque par #5 (#14). While not the lenghtiest, #6 and #10 are outstanding holes.

There are several holes that run parallel that create a mild "shooting gallery" effect. The 4th hole, a straight-uphill par 4 measuring about 270 yds, loses drivable area each year due to a huge maple tree guarding the left side of the acsent up the fairway. While important to the strategy of the hole, the growth of the tree is nearly rendering the hole unplayable.

While not a particularly long course (less than 6500 yards from the tips), Indian Hill is full of character and subtlties providing even the best golfers with plenty of challenge. The course features undulating terrain and small greens, putting a premium on the short game. With the updating of its irrigation system, the conditioning of the course has improved dramatically.
