I have played this course many times, both Palm and Cypress, and I can say that you won't see many other courses like this. And I don't mean it in a positive way. The conditions are decent. Nothing special, and nothing too bad either. The greens, however, blow me away. The greens of Cypress's #3 all the way to #7 have so much break in them, you would often leave yourself with nearly impossible putts that you'd normally only see on TV. In Palm, the greens aren't as drastic, but they do still break a ton on some holes. There is a tiny 3-tiered green on Palm that you may not see anywhere else... and you can easily go over 3 putts on that green if you've never played the course before. As for the course design, cypress tends to be short and easy (except for the greens) while Palm can be very challenging from the tips and the right wind. There are lots of doglegs. And whoever designed this course planted trees in the worst possible places on these doglegs. Have fun. For the green fees, I wouldn't really recommend this course. |

I played these courses when I lived in nearby Pleasanton. They are decent, but not really worth the $$$ charged. Nice pro shop. The course is usually not kept up for the $$$ that you pay to play. The greens sometimes look "moldy". Lots of elevation changes and forced carries here. Similar Products Used: Good pro shop. |

Unless these course(s) have changed drastically in the last four years, the other reviewers here must be easily impressed. I used to play here about twice a year, and it was a pretty average course with average conditions. Now I see the fees have risen to between 51 and and 100 (!) dollars a round. Wow. I wouldnt pay that much for these courses, set hard by the freeway, treeless and basically featureless, unless there was nowhere else to play. I only played there before because my commute went by there and I would stop off to let traffic die out while I hacked away. It was pretty good for that, and might still be except for the fees. Played the Palm course on a very windy afternoon. I heard it can get crazy on the weekends so we played at 3pm on a Wednesday. The twighlight rates are good ($29 each with cart). This is a great course to open it up and hit it. The greens can be very challenging. The staff was great and very helpful. I have read that the course was not very good etc., however we had a blast and it was a lot of fun. The holes at the top of the hill can be challenging with the wind, but that is part of playing the game. I thought the Palm course was in good shape and fairly challenging because of the length. I would recommend taking a late afternoon round on a weekday, you will enjoy it. Similar Products Used: None |

We played the Cypress course from blue tee September 24 2000. Customer Service We got very good help when we booked tee times Similar Products Used: We rented clubs, these were of good quality but a little bit expensive. We had a few beers in the bar after the round, average selection of beers and average pricing. |

I've only played the palm course, and it's pretty boring and ugly. It's not in very good condition (very dry and brown in the summer, sloppy in the winter) and it's slow and overcrowded. It has a couple of interesting holes with some water and trees in play, but nothing to write home about. Customer Service The staff is not overly friendly, but I wouldn't be either if I was working in Sunol. Similar Products Used: There's no driving range and the putting green is far too small. The proshop and club house are average or below. |

Choice of two 18 hole golf courses. Played there during the week and it was a great value - under $20 for 18. Course was in excellent condition. Nice variety and some long par 5s. Similar Products Used: Pros seemed friendly and knowledgeable. |

I like this facility. Two courses. The Palm course is longer and more open than its counterpart, the Cypress. The Palm can get pretty windy later in the day. Cypress has more trees capable of blocking the wind. A driving range IS available on the other side of Highway 680. (Just drive over the overpass-it's less than a minute drive!) I usually stop there before I go to the course. My suggestion for the price and slow play... DON'T PLAY ON WEEKENDS! Play before 9:00 M-Th and play for $20.00. Course is walkable so a cart is not needed. A cart is mandatory on weekends and will cost a total of about $50 to play! I don't think the courses are ugly either. Often I have seen families of deer wandering the course. My favorite holes: Cypress 8th, 10th & 18th. The Palm: 6th and 16th. Similar Products Used: None |
