The driving range has no natural grass only matts. The snack shack is overpriced from water to a hotdog. The practice green is excellent.

Customer Service

I used the gold level ($50) club fitting to purchase a Taylor Made Burner Superfast driver. The fitter (Penny) was excellent, patient professional and knowledgeable. I went back to her for a second fitting for a set of Ping G15 irons. The second fitting was again with Penny and I received excellent service.

After paying in full for my order as was agreed upon the service from the shop staff stopped. After a couple of weeks I called in to check on my order. When I called I was put on hold three times before I spoke to a staff member. She said she would check on my order and call me back. Never received a call back. I again called a few days later and was again put on hold 4 times before I insisted on talking to a manager. I was transferred to a manager who said he would check and call me back. He did call back and told me it was my lucky day my clubs had arrived. After spending $1600 in 2 months I expected a better level of customer service. That may not be much money to Haggin Oaks staff, management or to many golfers but, it was a sizable investment to me. They have everything a golfer needs in the shop but this is my last purchase from them.

I absolutely hate this golf course complex. I hate everything that Haggin Oaks stands for. I hate the range, the courses, and the stupid clubhouse. Every thing that they do here is wrong. I just hit a large and a small bucket of balls tonight and I had to deliberately shank all of the balls with no dimples on them because I didn't want to waste a good swing on a crappy ball. 13.00 for a large bucket, and you can only pay for a small medium or large with a credit card. How convenient. I went there one day and I wanted a 9.00 bucket and they said "No, you have to buy the S M or L buckets." I wish that I could go somewhere else to hit balls but this is the only night range in town. Also, I think that half of the balls are crap because they don't have dimples on them to have good flight. They defaced Mr. Mackenzie's course years ago when they redesigned the west course. During the summer it is under water. The east blue nine and red nine needs a new irrigation system. The workers should not be watering at night. A new system would be more efficient. Overall, the maintenance on the courses are terrible any time of year. The city spends too much money paying the unionized workers to maintain the course. Valley Crest golf maintenance could do a far better job for a better price. That way the consumer won't have to fit the bill for the employees. Um, what else about this place, oh yes, I hate the range because the mats are always bad. I hate the port o john that is the bathroom on the range. I hate that there is not a permanent bathroom. That place needs to be taken out of its misery. By far the worst golf course in California.

Customer Service

All of these people are arrogant jerks. I went to high school with the Morton brothers and they are clueless about running this business. The marquee on the freeway says "best course in Sacramento" What a joke. They don't have to produce a good product because they are unionized employees. I make sure that I get decent balls in my bucket and I will return any less that good range ball to the attendant. I don't care if they give me attitude. If I had the time I would return all of the "no dimpled" balls and get balls with dimples on them. You know what, I will do that next time. I can't say that I won't go there again, but then again I have to go somewhere with lights. There is nothing good about this course. The clubhouse sucks. There is a video on YouTube where an australian guy talks about the "brand new clubhouse". This is the worst course in California.

This is one very old Golf Course, there is so much golf history here. Just sit in the dinning setting, and history is decked out all over the walls and tables.

This course seems to be always busy...a local favorite actually. Not a difficult course at all. The type that you would bring your girlfriend to play.

In all honesty, it is a shame that this course doesn't redesign its layout. It is way past overdue. A layout that is outdated is an understatement.

You would think that such a long running history would of inspired some effort to improve as the timeline has gone along, but, no...stay the course, and they will come to play is a record that is going to stay that way...how sad.

Well, they just expanded a car lot right next to the 1st & 2nd hole...it used to be a gun range...and while your playing the 2nd hole par 3, you could hear the gun shots going off, and you were downrange...so, you played the par 3 a little quicker than all the other holes.

Now, if you have a banana slice off the 1st tee and it goes over the fence into the newly built lot, you just might end up buying a brand new windshield to start you off...and if you do well enough, the same can happen to you on the 2nd hole too..."yup, good idea, lets sell new cars right next to the golf course" unbelievable...

The majority of the holes are very boring indeed...however, you will still lose golfballs to the gopher holes (even located in the sand bunker!) and this is very frustrating indeed.

Sure, everyone raves about the 18th hole, and this is about the only jewel this course has...par 5, over 2 creeks and this hole just doesn't make up for all the other boring holes.

This is the type of course not to challenge your game, but rather to eyeball some cuties while your playing a round with buddies and beer abound...If you shot 106 on a very difficult course last week and lost $ on the skins, this is where you come to lick you wounds to regain that confidence...it's a feel good course...and I believe that this course should be better than that.

I played the Arcade Creek course and it is always in decent shape at a great price. Sometimes a bit crowded but play is never ridiculously slow.

Driving range is great in the summer, open 24 hours a day so we don't have to go out in the Sacramento heat!

I just played the newly renovated Allister MacKenzie course at Haggin Oaks yesterday. It was an excellent course. Relatively flat all the way, a couple water hazards, and a 590 yard par 5 (630 from the back tees). The maintenance is pretty good. The fairways still need to be reworked, but they're still good. The tee boxes are in well condition too. But perhaps the best part is the greens! They're so well maintained, they run so smoothly! Here in San Francisco the greens are temporary compared to those! Overall one of my favorite courses... .. .

They have a little 'restaraunt' which is way too expensive. A nice little Pro Shop with a bunch of shoes. The range I didn't see much. very well maintained practice greens. Uhh, oh yeah how can I ferget the GOLF SUPERSTORE. it's prety big with every golf ball every putter every club. They had a bunch of wedges and stuff that I've never seen here at GOlf Mart in stuff. (e.g. Never Compromise wedges)
