Shoots in the 90s
Great value. They have a weekday special after 2, 28 dollars cart included. Thats are deal. When its windy, place sucks. When its calm its phenomenal. The island green is fun(made par). The big par 5's are cool. The greens are true and not too fast. We love playing here, its just a very well maintained course with the best practice range in Sonoma county. Customer Service Yeah whats up with the 2 dollars cart key deposit? |

Tough course with the wind. It was gail force when I played. Brutal. Anyway, condition of the course was rather good. Fairways are pretty straight forward. Wide and easy. Greens are to be respected. Tough. I got the most three putts in a while here and it wasn't just because of the wind. But it was still fun because of the challenge. Plenty of bunkers to keep you busy with errant shots, especially with the wind blowing. Best hole: I liked that island green, but with the wind it was damn near impossible to get it on the green. I had to drop and so did everyone else in my foursome. Worst: The 9th is just poorly designed. There's this raveen just short of the green and there's simply no way to see it from the fairway. So if you hit a good to great shot, you're hosed. The good thing about this place is the price and the overall condition of the course. The negative is the airport right next to the course with many planes coming and going. Kind of annoying. Also, I'm not sure this place is too playable when the wind gets going too much. 5-10 miles would be ok, but when it's 20-30 and you're losing your hat all day + golf balls, it makes for a long day and a frustrating round. I couldn't keep the ball far back enough in my stance even if I tried. Otherwise, well worth the test. Customer Service Marshall's were cool and showed empathy for us in this crazy wind |

I really enjoy this course. I'd been playing at Adobe Creek for a long time but now that I've found Rooster that's become far less frequent. The fairways and are in great shape and the greens are fast but completely fair and true. There are enough hazards and traps to make it interesting but not so much that a 90+ shooter like myself gets too beaten down. Places like Chardonnay and Indian Valley may look more interesting, but with blind tee shots and criminally tight approaches they can be downright silly. Rooster Run is a fairly flat course that plays pretty straightforwardly while retaining enough challenge and variety to keep my +4 friend happy. It's also longer than a lot of the places in the area, which tend to have whites under 6000yds. To round it out it's never packed too tightly with tee times - we've yet to have a round over 4.5 hours. Customer Service Nice enough people so far. Similar Products Used: Friendly starters. Good enough snack bar. |

Shoot in the 90s
This is a nice course in good shape. There are too many challenging holes, unless the wind is blowing like it was day I was there, then it's really challenging. Most of the holes are straight . There are 2 holes with doglegs. Water and creeks come into play on quite a few of the holes. The par 3 6th in a scenic island green and the 18th has lakes on either side of the fairways making it interesting. Similar Products Used: Snack bar was reasonably priced, for a golf course. Pro shop folks were friendly and helpful. |
