2 great 18 hole championship courses. Both very different. Greens are usually very fast and good condition.
Customer Service New management. Not too sure about them yet. Verdict is still out. So far so good. Similar Products Used: cinnabar hills, eagle ridge |

I recentely played the tournament course on the day of thanksgiving and was extremely dissapointed. The service for the carts was terrible and after teeing of at 12:30, we only got 14 in before dark. The course was extremely nice. Good condition and very challenging. Overall, I would reccomend it. Customer Service fine Similar Products Used: general facilities. Nice pro shop especially. |

Played the tournament course. Several interesting holes. 3 and 4 are back to back par fives. Fairways and greend are in nice shape. Rough is very punishing, not sure what type of grass but while not tall is very dense, producing nesty lies that can really twist the club Customer Service Perfectly acceptable Similar Products Used: Grass range. |

was very disappointed for one big reason. no one fixes their divots on the green there. i walked up to fix my divot on a particular hole( i forgot the #) and there would be literally hundreds of divots that were not fixed!!! i understand that it is a public course but muni courses have better kept greens than coyote. would not go again. |

Shoot in the 80s
Some of the other reviews here talk about how the course would be without the wind, but that is moot, because that area (South San Jose, Morgan Hill)always howls about 30 mph. The course is designed with that in mind - downwind holes all over 450 yards, holes into the wind under 400. I am not a golf course architect, but I noted some oddities, such as bunkers in front of the green on downwind holes - you can't bump and run it into the green, but if you try to fly it on the wind will run it off the back, no matter how short you hit it. The maintenance was good, but the design is probalby too hard for average players (above 5 handicap). I felt like I was working, not playing. Bottom line - a famous name architect, loads of hype and Senior PGA tour event do not a great golf course make. If having fun is what you want, stay away. If you are scratch or better and want a test this is the place. Also - the yardage book talks about "great views" - of what? The lines of cars flying down highway 101? Also - if you have allergies this is a place to avoid. There are massive fields of weeds whose pollens get absolutely driven into your eyes by the wind. My eyes were red and watering for two days after. Customer Service There was some guy, the starter I guess, who wouldnt let me quickly hit some of the loose range balls that were left on the tee even though I told him i only had five minutes till my tee time. He made me buy a bag of balls, but first made me wait while he gabbed on the phone. By the time I got the balls, I only had time to hit 3 before the same guy told me I had to go to the tee! Similar Products Used: The restaruant menu - if you can't play like Nicklaus, you can end up looking like him if you eat here - that is, like "Fat Jack" of the 1960's. Everyithing on the menu had pork in it. I ordered a chicken sandwich with the pork removed and had serious gas all day long. |

Shoot in the 90s
I generally shoot in the 90's but not on this course! Played around 1:00 (first tier of twighlight play-$50 at that time) There are a lot of "environmental areas" that are protected and played as lateral hazards. Your ball is pretty much gone if it goes in there, because even if you find your ball, you aren't supposed to go in there. (Let alone play your ball) Two warnings from the Ranger and you are gone! (or so they say) Nice greens. Holes that make you do more than just bang a driver off the tee. I felt beat up after I played but I would recommend this course. Customer Service Starter was a cool guy. I don't know if he was supposed to do this but he gave us each a nice brass divot repair tool and a yardage book (I think he was supposed to charge us for that-SO DONT COUNT ON IT!) I hope I don't get him in trouble, because those are the nice types of things you remember. Similar Products Used: I was very impressed with the clubhouse. Courtesy phones (local calls only). Nice bar (complimentary finger sandwiches.) Happy Hour. |

Shoot in the 80s
This course can be fun, depending on the weather. It can get really windy in this part of South San Jose/Morgan Hill, as it was when I played it the first time. It was virtually impossible, but fun none the less. Customer Service Tee times are easy to make (automated system that works) and they got us off early. Similar Products Used: There's no range -- yet. But the staff was friendly and the clubhouse is awesome. |
