Have played this course several times over the years. It's a very nice resort course. Two small holes squeezed by water to make it an "ocean" course, but they are picturesque, and overall it is fun with reasonable variation. Well kept. Strong afternoon breezes can dramatically alter shots but they keep temps very pleasant. Issues: (1) be careful about early AM tee times because morning sea fog may not lift until later and it's a shame to miss out on the vistas; (2) no practice facility to speak of, (3) rates jump dramatically on weekends ($110 during week more than reasonable, $235 weekend is steep). Value depends on what rate you pay. Never too crowded (due to rates, probably) although there a lot of places you can't see groups in front of you and there can be some idiot behind you who won't look at his GPS (which identifies forward cart locations). Still, a nice course. |

Monarch Beach Golf Resort
For a resort course, it is very good and easy for most golfers. You don't have to worry too much about the course as it is 'what you see is what you get.' It is not that long, which makes it a highly rated course by Golf for Women magazine. Only a couple holes with ocean view. Played in July, so the course was in great condition and easy to get around in just over 4 hours. For the price, they do provide good service and the course is manageable. However, it is too pricey unless you want to treat yourself. Customer Service Great service as they let you know what to expect when you check in and see that you make it around the course OK. No driving range and they only had a small putting green as real estate is quite expensive in that neighborhood. |

Monarch Beach Golf Course
Monarch is way overpriced. The best time to play is during summer late afternoons. The sunset views are awesome and the course is usually deserted after 2PM and the price is more reasonable. The service is great. There is a lot of OB on the course. You cant grip it and rip it on this course. Best hole is # 7. Customer Service Good Customer Service |

Over priced "Muni" course...Flat and straight and no imagination. The only aspects that set it apart are the many bunkers and the challenging/nicely kept greens. Rough along the fairways can be tough on a slicer, but the fairways are generous. There are many $35-40.00 courses I would rather play than this $50+ "want to be muni upgrade" The times I have played the wind was not a factor, but there are tales of very windy days. There are some fairways along the salt water that are not doing well, and were under repair the last time I played. Deals can be had, probably because of the over priced fees. Customer Service Alright Proshop, didn't eat there. Similar Products Used: Driving range close by, and a good sized putting green. Chipping and bunker are a plus for practice. |

Nice course, well maintained. Narrow fairways, ocean breeze can make some holes very challenging in the afternoons. Customer Service Snooty but nice Similar Products Used: None |

Course is short but tricky. Target golf is the key here even from the tips. Customer Service very good -- tee times are easy to make. Similar Products Used: sunday bruch at the club house is excelent |
