A very good public course. A few bunkers, water, and doglegs are present. Freeway noise is loud on one hole. Condition of the course is above average. Lots of trees, mountain scenery, and visible wildlife make Harding enjoyable. Fellow golfers are usually pleasant. I play here once a week and recommend this course to casual golfers.

Incredible condition for a reasonably priced muni course. The new 18th hole is a great finishing hole.

I think they screwed up the 10th hole. It used to have a really tricky second shot because a canyon necked down the fairway at about 120 yards. They filled in a good part of the canyon which takes all the fear out of the hole... The old 14th hole required a really good drive or your ball would run down into a valley on the left side of the fairway leaving you with a 175 yard shot to a green that seemed 50 yards up in the air. The new fairway has been contoured so your drive is much less likely to run into the valley. These two changes make the course a bit fairer, but also take a bit of the natural character away.

I just played the redesigned Harding Park. I had played the old Harding park 10 times or so. The difference in the condition between the old and new is difficult to overstate. The greens are immaculate and true, though being new, are a bit on the firm side. The sand traps are great. The fairways are firm and fast and tee boxes are in great shape. The trees and undergrowth have been trimmed back a large amount giving lots of new sight lines across the course. Overall it's probably the highest quality muni course I've ever played. Especially on the back nine they reworked a lot of fairways and greens. They moved around 1000's of tons of earth to reshape fairways and greens. Some of the changes I like, but some of the changes take away some of the character of the old course. There's many holes with new fairway bunkers that make you think twice about which shot to play.

Well maintained for a heavily played municipal course.

Crowded, especially on weekends. Play weekday mornings or early afternoon for maximum enjoyment.

My favorite of the Griffith Park courses; just the right length and amount of challenge.
