Got a good deal to play this course on a teetime website. Tee'd off on a Saturday@1130 for $40. They were behind by about 40 mins so we tee'd off a bit later. It got really backed up on the 2nd tee (par3) - 4 groups behind, but played ok after that. The course is just ok. I guess for being in Orange County it is a good price (normally $72 on the weekend), but it just doesn't seem worth that to me. I'd rather drive a little bit and play at some of the Corona courses for $50 or a $70 course that would be much nicer. The layout isn't bad, there are some cool holes. I like the back 9 better than the front. Condition of the course was average-good, nothing great. It's really just an average course with a slightly higher price tag because of location. If I get a great deal, I'd play there again, otherwise, I'd prefer to drive a little

Customer Service

Good. Starter was nice, food was pretty good.

I feel this course is very similar to El Prado in Chino, just more expensive and closer to home for me.

Everyone in irvine or newport seems to play here or in costa mesa because of the price. Its always crowded, you always have to wait at every hole, and you always have to hurry up because people are waiting behind you.

Customer Service

none..

Been there, done that, and not going back. Fairway and greens are badly maintained. Water stink even from 30 yards away.

This course just plain sucks. The tee boxes are so hard and dry it is difficult to tee up ><. It doesn't seem like they do alot of maintenance on the course.

Customer Service

Starters and marshalls are the rudest ones I've ever met. Because of them I am never playing this course again.

Course is a half-way decent track. Has a few interesting holes. One that absolutely baffles me. No idea there is water and where the water is until you hit a great drive that seems down the middle only to find the slope took it all the way down to a wet ending that seemed to appear out of nowhere

Customer Service

Sucked... the starter was a rude individual who seemed to be having a rough go of things.

Driving range is now an "all turf" range. No grass at all... including the targets and the bunkers.

I tried out this golf course once, and have never gone back again, although i'll have to for golf team tryouts in December. The tees are in very nad condition, the fairways are in constant need of repair, lots of electricial and irrigation equiptment to mess with the lie of your ball, very narrow fairways. It's very hard to believe that this is the home course of Woodbridge High, one of the best high school teams in the state, and i hope that when i tryout, that they change their home course, because i will not do well on this piece of junk at all.

Played Saturday, March 2 as part of group outing. I had previously played this course in September 2000 and the experience was the same. The teeboxes were in near barren condition. Fairways were brown and hard and some had patchwork sod to provide an uneven texture of green throughout the course. Less than 50% of the greens were in good condition. Some bunkers were just cement molds just holding a few grains of sand. The course meanders along a street and through an apartment complex; however, it does appear that holes were just placed wherever there was space. I imagine in the land of Pelican Hills and Dove Canyon golf courses, there must be an ugly duckling, and Rancho San Joaquin is that duck. I don''''t believe it will ever make it to the swan status. In conclusion, I would not play this course for free and I do not recommend this course to any level of player.

Customer Service

There were no water fountains/stations on the course. Cart girl hung around the backed up groups near the uphill par threes. Only spoke with the marshall/starter and the marshall I did see out on th

This course is overpriced and not worth money.
It's always under repair and the fairways are in poor condition.
Basically not worth the $65+ green fee.

Overall a well kept, fairly long course with lots of water and bunkers. Greens on this course are difficult and hard to read. Fairways are medium sized and in fairly good condition. This course is fairly expensive, but is walkable. Overall a good course, but overpriced.
