Not much exciting going on here. Played the Classic course, just one straight flat fairway after another. Lack of water was also taken its toll on the fairways. A few of them have large dirt areas that are not playable. Surprising was that the green were in pretty good shape. The winds kick up pretty good here in the afternoon, so it will affect your approaches on the elevated greens, so club up. Nothing really makes this place a stand out from the other Orange County courses. Customer Service Good. Similar Products Used: All So Cal |

Mile Square Classic is one of the better values in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. You're in for a pretty tough challenge playing from the tips--which for some reason if you play on Thursdays, the blues are always set at the very tips. The Front 9 is your standard Los Angeles area layout with old trees lining the fairways. The back 9 is a little bit more interesting of a layout with some water in play on a few holes. 10 is a very difficult par 5, especially after you've downed a chili dog from the snack bar. 11 is a nice short par 4 with a raised green. One of the better shorter par 4's in LA is a few holes later. Playing at about 340 yards, you can attempt to bomb one close to the green but there's water running the whole length of the fairway. A very cool risk/reward short par 4. The whole course features some very sloping greens. Customer Service Staff seems pretty cool and friendly. Players Course: Some holes have a decent layout, but I'm sure it will improve if they can get the trees to grow in between the fairways. This course is way too forgiving, except for the water holes which is a suprise to long driving first-timers (no signs or course guide showing the layout of the holes). I had not played golf in 10 months when I made birdie on the first hole. Birdies doesn't happen every round for me, and it is kind of weird that the approach was so easy when I had sliced my drive into the wrong fairway.. I ended up with 3 birdies (without hitting the fairway) and a good score for my mediocre game. So, if you're spraying your tee-shots and want to improve your handicap, Mile Square is for you. Customer Service Mark Phelps is a great guy who works in the pro shop and offers instruction. |

We played the Players Course (newer of the two) and there was no problem getting a tee time. They do charge $12 more so that may be a deterrent to some. The course has grown up some but still had a lot to do more before it matures into a better test. It was it very good shape with the only criticism being that a LOT of ball marks have gone unrepaired making the greens spotty in places due to the immature roots and soft greens. Overall, it is good design and the pace of play was good for L.A./Orange county area (4-1/4 hours for a foursome on a Friday). Customer Service Good. Pro shop was very straight forward about the greens. Similar Products Used: The 19th hole/bar area was nice and the food was good also. |

Fun course, not too challenging layout on either course (players 18/classic 18). Good fairway grass, although a fair amount of area on both courses is ground under repair. Greens are not difficult, but too many hackers not repairing their ball marks. Customer Service ok Similar Products Used: range ok |

I'm writing this review two years after the previous review, so all 36 holes are now complete and playable. There are two courses: the Players, which is a fairly long, challenging little course designed for moderate skilled players, because the fairways are wide, but you have to be a fairly long ball hitter to get onto the greens in reg. The second course is called the Classic, and the fairways are a little narrower, but a little shorter than the Players. Greens on both courses are in near perfect condition, and Early Bird and twilight rates are great, but you have to get in early enough on either times if you want to play right away (it fills up really quick). Wonderful courses for people of all skill levels. Customer Service pro shop is very helpful Similar Products Used: somewhat medicore matt-hitting driving range |

This review pertains to the original course, which is now called the ''Classic Course.'' Good municipal facility. Mature trees, with wide fairways. The course plays a little longer than the card shows because there is a less than average amount of roll. A good value. Customer Service Friendly staff, new clubhouse. Similar Products Used: None |

Decent course....They're adding another 18 holes and have already debuted a few to the public. Green fees are moderate, and the course is in fairly good condition. Fairways are medium to large, greens are decent. Overall a fun course. Similar Products Used: None |
