I play this course about once a week and it is a very beautiful and challenging course. Beginning golfers will find this a very difficult course. There are lots of water hazards and sand traps that will challenge the average golfers.

This course was once a true bargain. As of 8/15/08 the greens on the back nine are burnt to a crisp, putting on 60% sand with no grass and the front nine is 50% weeds. Lindsey is obviously not spending any money on this course and the membership will soon reflect the quality fo the greens. they need to go to bermuda like Maumelle Country club just put in and quit trying to maintain a grass that is clearly out of their league.

This is a tough golf course and a beautiful one at that. The blue tees are definitely a challenge and the black has you begging for par....especially when there's wind. You'll find that if you play this course a few times, you'll almost lose interest on most other courses. It's definitely a player's course that will help you hone your skill. If you aren't a strong approach shot player, be sure to warm up on the practice chipping green first and play away from danger as much as possible if you want to score. There's a fair amount of water and bunkers both. The greens are undulating and in great shape for most of the year round. The course is now filling out as the trees are coming of age. This is a fairly new course being about 5 or 6 years old. The amenities are pretty good and the grill food is good. Play it on a weekday, though since it sees a lot of play on the weekends.

Personally, I found this course to be terrible at best. The fairways and greens were in pretty good shape, but the layout is just awful. You can't tell where half of the fairways are going. They tried to cram a golf course onto too small of a piece of land. The greens have too many tiers and none of them are very big. You can't read them at all. There aren't really any tree lines on some holes or any way to figure out where the greens are over the tops of hills. If you are looking for public golf in Little Rock, look elsewhere unless you just want to keep getting mad at how bad of a layout you are playing.

Five years ago I saw a simple golf course blue print at our neighborhood homeowners association meeting. I was convinced that if Mr. Lindsey would keep his word (and he has) that this golf course would be a premier course in the LR metro area. So (as I remember) I was the 6th person to plunk down an initiation check in the construction trailer without a tee or green in sight.

But today, you won't find bulldozers and machinery. What you'll find are lush zozia tee boxes, lavish bermuda fairways, and luxuriant, undulating bent grass greens. The course plays long and becomes even more interesting on windy days. Be sure to stay below the pin on most greens.

You will love the 14th green. It is shaped like the state of Arkansas. And yes, it even has the mountains in the west and the Grand Praire in the east. Check it out. I hope the pin is in Stuttgart the day you play. Fayetteville is tough to par.

Furthermore, the current club Manager (Mr. Bev Lambert) and staff operate the club in a friendly, neighborly, and professional manner. Likewise, the greens keeper and his staff are constantly making improvements to the course. (Although they could put the pins closer to my approach shots!) Don't expect to see these guys sitting around like the Maytag repair man.

Along with enjoying the golf, we enjoy the pool and fitness center. Hence, for the membership fee, I feel like I get a great value for my dollar.

Bev, Jack, and staff will always make you feel welcome. A number of tournaments occur on Mondays during the spring/summer.

No adult beverages are sold here. However, you can bring your own if you wish. The food from the grill is reasonably priced and is your typical grill menu. Eagle has a nice driving range, chipping green, and an excellant practice green.
