The layout of the course is fairly simple (no 500 yard walks to the next tee), but fairway tightness varies from hole-to-hole. It is nearly impossible to go an entire round without hitting a couple of shots from below/above your feet. The course slopes, and has minor mounds in the fairway, but nothing too drastic, however. Bunkers are well-maintained. #1 is a 500+ yd par 5 with a creek running diagonally from 240-280 out (R-to-L). Pond will catch slices. Second half of the fairway has a creek running along left-hand side with a major rocky slope to the left. Maybe a bit much for an opening hole test, but plays consistently. #4 is a 175-yard par 3 over a pond, and appears to be slightly downhill at first glance. Beware, however! The treeline behind & beside the green create a swirling wind effect that actually pushes into your face. Take an extra club off the tee and you won't be disappointed. #9 is a near-500 yard par 5 with a severe dogleg left off the tee, with major woodlands to the right. The tee box is elevated, which is good is you can't play a draw. There is more room to the left than you think off the tee, past the trees.

Only 9 holes to this course. The greens have vastly improved in the past year or two, but still need softening. They aren't exactly concrete, but may well be related to concrete. Generally, however, they will roll fairly true. Hole #1 is a swampland if you play this course the day after a rainstorm. This is caused by the severe slope down to the fairway, and little drainage area to the opposite side. If you're hungry before you come, bring something with you. Little to offer in the way of food here.

Persimmon Ridge offers length, but requires accuracy, unlike most courses north of Little Rock that require only one or the other.

Customer Service

Better customer service can not be found. Friendly, helpful staff, with management that often lowers green fees (which are extremely reasonable anyway... $21.25 for the weekend, $16.25 weekdays (cart included for both)).

Driving range is very adequate, but is located far from the clubhouse. They let you take a cart over there, however. Putting green is very, very indicative of actual course conditions, and is maintained quite well. It is large enough to handle quite a few players at the same time, too. There needs to be better facilities to let a player get fed, and the drink selection is often quite thin, as well.
