Shoots in the 80s
This is an older Florida-style golf course. The course like most private ones has nice greens. Overall it is fairly forgiving. You will find your ball, but occasionally there will be a tree in the way. Most desert courses fail the former statement making the latter irrelevent. There is a memorable hole or two, but overall it is a flat course and it can be walked. It is an older club overall and has a little bit of feeling that way. If you want to play more of a Florida style course in AZ this is the one. I did not rate it high overall, so I apparently don't like finding my ball on errant shots. I think it is a very fair course and it certainly won't beat you up. It has values in that regard, but I'm willing to be beaten up a bit at this stage in my game. Customer Service Hard to say anything negative-I did not sample the food Similar Products Used: I think it's most similar to Orange Tree which is also Florida like in my opinion. |

This is a fun course, a welcome relief from other North Scottsdale courses. I played it when they were prepping for overseeding, so I really cannot comment on the conditions (though the grass did seem healthy). I'm not a huge fan of the design of this course- it is pretty flat and not very unique. Few bunkers, minimal fairway contouring, not a lot of trees to force challenging shots, and very little uphill/downhill. Sort of reminds me of mid-range daily fee courses in the midwest and the east. The location and land are actually quite good- if the membership were willing to invest some money in the course (to pay for design talent and some serious earth moving) they could have something special. But for now it's pretty dull, other than the 18th hole, which has a very challenging first and second shot. Customer Service Staff is polite, professional, very friendly. Obviously a well-managed club. Similar Products Used: Most other private courses in Phx area. Similar to Gainey Ranch perhaps. |

beautiful, scenic course with moderate elevation changes. good test of golf, not a push over. very few parallel fairways. elevated tees on a few holes provides some nice views of the hole/course. Customer Service inconsistent in both the proshop and lounge. seems that they always running one person short in the lounge although staff persistently friendly. Similar Products Used: first rate driving range and practice facility, would be better if they could keep range balls in supply. can't use it if you don't have anything to hit. |
