Legend Trail is a desert course that usually is a little cheaper than others to play and is worth playing. I wouldn't call the layout stunning but it works and is a decent place to play. The greens were redone a year ago and it will probably be another year before they are right where they want them to be. The course is fair and relatively forgiving for a desert course. That forgiveness does not cross into redemption territory say like Kierland. Customer Service Average Similar Products Used: I don't know if there is something exactly similar but I think it falls into a similar tier as Talking Stick (though customer service is better there). It's a smidge below Grayhawk, but I the pace of play is better than Grayhawk and it's generally cheaper. |

Heads up! Catch this course on a typical Phoenix windless day. Otherwise, it's a bear. Played it in very windy conditions last month. Aside from my difficulty finding the fairways, I really enjoyed this course and look forward to playing again. Every hole makes you think. An accurate tee ball is a must or your ball is toast. Very unforgiving desert areas on both sides of the fairway make finding balls very difficult. Only complaint was the poor quality of the driving range. The grass tees were recently sanded which made for very difficult ball striking. Just what I needed before heading out in the 30mph winds. Customer Service Average. No beverage cart the day we played. Must have been too cold for the poor girl. |

I agree with the review above, this is one of the best public play courses in the valley, and is a true steal if you find one of the discounted rates on Golf Now. It demonstrates desert/target flavor without being painfully difficult (e.g. Troon Country Club).
Customer Service Customer service is good. Similar Products Used: Most of the courses in this area, public & private. Troon North is excellent, though overpriced. The Grayhawk courses are good. Trilogy at Vistancia (way west) is worth the trip as well. On the private rota in the area, Desert Highlands by far my favorite. Troon CC is good but painfully hard. Whisper Rock is right across the street, I like the layouts there as well. |

I now know why it's the 7th rated course in Arizona. This course is a must. The greens and fairways were in perfect condition when I played in December. I can't wait to return. I give this course a four-star rating. One local rule I did not like. If you hit the ball in the desert - which is bascially right or left of every fairway - and you can't find it, you take a drop where it went out. If you gamble, be careful how many strokes you give. Customer Service The pro shop happened to have a sale when I visited. Bought several shirts. Similar Products Used: Had a great western breakfest. |
