Shoots in the 90s
We played the Faldo Course. This is an amazing course with many, many huge challenging bunkers and crazy bowl shaped greens with different grades..really impressive. Beautiful backdrop/setting of famous mountains of the Phoenix area. Impressive GPS systems in the carts that let you know where your ball is located as well as other carts. This is a very challenging but FUN course...we can hardly wait to play the Palmer course. If you ever visti Scottsdale area...WILDFIRE IS A MUST PLAY!!!!! Customer Service Off the charts, highly recommend staying at the resort of villas...excellent accomodations. |

Played in October, 2003, the Faldo course. The Palmer course was closed for overseeding - which, by the way, you need to check for in October-November in Arizona. LOTS of courses closed for 2-3 weeks, so call ahead to make sure courses you plan to play will be available. This was a great course - challenging but fair, and, most of all, a course that makes you think. You may hit driver off most tees, but even then you need to think about where you want to try to place or shape your shot. Although there are plenty of bunkers and waste areas there are lots of different shots to play around the greens. Price was typical Scottsdale resort - $125 - which I thought was high (coming from North Carolina) until I checked around and saw plenty of $150 and $175 fees for other resort courses. The course is flat, but views of surrounding mountains are always present, and the desert flavor is distinctly there. Customer Service Decent but perhaps not quite up to best resort standards - we weren't advised that there would be no practice facility available (see above). Similar Products Used: The resort itself (JW Marriot Desert Ridge) is fabulous and again pricey but in line with other Scottsdale resorts. |

Great desert course. Went on a 4 day trip with a couple of golf buddies. Never played this one before. I guarantee you, we'll play it again. Great desert layout, tee boxes, fairway, greens all excellent. Even got yardage book, divot repair tool, and ball marker. Played for $40 in mid september. Looking forward to trying the Faldo course Customer Service Fantastic |

I just returned from a spectacular 4 day golf excursion, courtesy of my wife, for my birthday. We played 6 courses in 4 days: Talking Stick, Las Sendas, Sun Ridge Canyon, Eagle Mountain, Wildfire and Gold Canyon (Dinosaur). Please take the time to read all my reviews.
