Played Papago and several other courses during the week of April 26, 2010. We were very disappointed, course was dry and in very rough condition, and no cart paths. We paid only $49/PP and did not deliver on expectations. Found a great course next day at Superstition Springs/Mesa, AZ; great condition and paid $37/PP.

Customer Service

papgao was friendly Service, no question.

Played this course on February 8, 2009 after a supposed multimillion dollar upgrade. My question is: Who's pocket did the money go into????

This course is the worst course our group has played over the last 8 annual trips playing in Arizona. The fairways were ok but everything else was way sub-par. The greens were very bumpy, inconsistent and it was hit-n-hope at best.

The course can play long, has many traps but is relatively flat. I don't recommend anyone playing this course for the next couple years. Perhaps in a few years it will mature more and be better groomed.

Customer Service

People were friendly and helpful. I didn't like the fact that they held your cart (kept the key) until the very last minute before tee-off.

None of the courses I have played in the Phoenix area over the past 8 years can compare to this "goat ranch".

Papago a must skip for good golfers. Greens always in horrible shape, and watchout if they are cut down, you won't be able to stop your downhill putts. The 9th hole I had a 10ft uphill putt on the front of the green, it lipped 270deg and ran off the front of the green 20yrds down the fairway. Unfortunately most greens are built the same way. they spray paint their fairways green in the winter, and have rocks and no sand in the bunkers. Horrible shape and overrated layout. Must avoid course unless you like to just waste 5hrs.

Customer Service

Pro-shop treats you like you should be there. Not one friendly person on the staff

Model Reviewed: Papago Golf Course

Reasonably priced (for Phoenix) and playable municipal course. Sees a lot of play but even in the middle of the long spell without rain had nice tees, greens and fairways. Large trees give each hole some charater. Wayward balls wind up on dirt rather than under bushes. Lots of dormant grass during winter (early February).

Customer Service

Friendly staff. Very scraggly driving/practice range.

A nice cheap city course. Strange layout for being in a desert. Large mature trees and water. From back tees is long over 7,000 yds. Can be challenging.

Customer Service

Nice guys at the pro shop.
