Aquila is an incredible quality golf course for a Muni. It is a championship design with large landing areas and many bail out areas. The greens are large, moderately undulating, good speed and putt true to the read. The greenside bunkers can be deep and challenging. Overall a fun course to play and especially low cost for out of town visitors. Customer Service The people in the club house were friendly and helpful for arranging tee times. I played the 18-hole course several times while I lived in Phoenix, and generally it was kept in good shape and provided a challenging but fair experience. What I really want to talk up, however, is the nine-hole par 3 course, which is a great place to practice your game. It's rarely crowded, costs less than $10, and typically you can replay it for free. I used to go over there after work and play it twice, and my wedge game was in the best shape of its life. Customer Service Great. Nice folks. |

Nice overall flat course with little in the way of large trees. Mostly schrubs and desert. Played there one time and was dissappointed that management placed our 4some in the middle of a corporate tourney. They should have informed us of this with the option of a different time...
Customer Service OK other than the previously mentioned issue. |

Aguilla
Wide open desert municipal course in the far southern section of Phoenix. Prices are reasonable and the course is generally user friendly, though long. Stay in the fairway and you'll be all right. Very few trees but a nice mountain range backdrop for scenery. Greens are fast but true. Fun to play, but I wouldn't walk it. Between the length, elevation changes and heat you would be testing yourself. There are some blind shots here and it would be helpful to have someone who knows the course along for the ride. Customer Service Efficient, helpful staff. Driving/practice range is just so-so. |

Probably the best public course in Phoenix. Walkable and well maintained. Good variety of holes yet the back nine mimics the front nine. Customer Service Excellent Similar Products Used: Excellent range |

Aguila is a great desert course. With rolling hills and dangerously devious hardpans ( in natural landscape) it is a thrill and a pleasurable pain at times to play. If you can play in regulation off the tee you will find your self playing from great lies and certain second shots. Deviation from the fairway will result in some problems. Not recommeded for the beginner golfer, but i believe a beginner would have just as much fun. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have an attatched par 27 exec course that will have you giving the sand and lob wedge a work out. One of the best Municipal courseI have played and the par 3 copurse is beyond words, simply outstanding. I did notice however that being a muni' they do suffer from some grounds keeping issues and poor trap upkeep after storms. Customer Service Above and beyond any level or rating I could give. Pros are out standing, clubhouse and pro shop staff knowledgeabvle and friendly. JUnior golfing program is stellar. Great course. The greens are well maintained and putt very true. The course in long 7000+ and challenges every club in your bag. The mountain views are great and the cost in even better. Best hole is 18, a par 4, 460 yards uphill to a green protected by bunkers and water. Customer Service Good Similar Products Used: Nice grass range |
