A vewry cool course. One never ending water hazard. Me and my buddy, the Kamloops Tiger, each only lost one ball in the water. A feat in itself. Course is in great conditon. We played the Gold/White combination. The par 3's did feel all the same at 150-160 yards as we played up a bit. Wind will affect the quality of the experience but it is a good course. The "trappings" of the clubhouse make it feel a bit posh for the average Joe. If you can get past the pretty people loitering in the clubhouse area, it will be well worth the effort to get here and have a go.

Customer Service

Pretty good. Disppointed to not get more time on the range as they are in such a rush to push groups out ahead of time.

Played here about half dozen times now. Variety is excellent, plenty of water though only time that aspect gives me trouble is when windy. It's very difficult then. Conditions are always excellent (well, it is a Troon managed course which helps immensely). Pricey in season, excellent value off-season. I'll rate a 3.5 for value. Rounds always seem to flow well here too, even though they stay quite busy.

Customer Service

Shop and cart crews always great. Again, it's Troon so no surprise.

Beautiful golf course with nice fairways and greens. Lots of water and diversity in the hole designs.

Customer Service

Customer service was above average but inadequate response about lack of yardage markers and course layout maps. This is a pricey course well worth the money if you can find your yardage and view the hole layout before hitting, otherwise your in for a frustrating, expensive and unfair experience. Until they get these important items resolved, avoid playing this course.

Snack window personnel were nice and the food between the nines was reasonably priced, quickly served and adequately refilled the gas tank.

I thought I would give my review to provide the tourist perspective on this course. The other reviews here are by locals and they love it, but if you are coming from out of town to play golf you may want to check out other courses. Reason: My philosophy on golf vacations is that you should taste the local geography, on a course in which it is presented in its best and most representative fashion. Thus, you go to the California coast, you want Pebble Beach or some other cliffs n' coastline layout. You go to the desert, you should find a course which snakes through the sand among the cactus and boulders. Ocotillo does not do that, and is actually a golf course that could be found anywhere. That being said, however, it IS a very nice layout and very cleanly maintained. The anomaly is that it is located in desert country, yet the predominant feature is the huge amount of water hazards. For locals I am sure this is a nice change. For people coming in out of the rain or snow of the East or North, I would think it would remind them of home, which is probably not what you want when you are on vacation. (Especially for the price that is charged)

This has been my favorite for many years, and I would encourage newcomers and visitors to Phoenix to seek out Oocitllo as the perfect complement (or alternative) to the popular desert golf courses. It has ample turf and the water is as negotiable with careful selected shots that can at least get airborne. Always in great shape, maintained by the same superintendent for 15 years. The clubhouse rivals any town, and the service is cordial rather than "corporate." If you have choice, ask to play the White 9, as it has a super mix of water and non-holes, and certainly the strongest finish of the three nines.

Customer Service

They go out of their way to make you feel at home and welcome without the usual "canned routine."

A walking-man's dream. The price - $18 after 4pm if you can finish. Before 4pm, it's in the neighborhood of a week's pay. Seriously, however, you won't soon forget this one. The condition: spectacular. The difficulty: challenging but not impossible. If you visit this little gem, the first thing you'll notice is the gorgeously structured clubhouse. The clubhouse itself is worth a glance. The practice area including the greens and range are really quite something to see. With small ponds and waterfalls you get a great backdrop for starting your round. This course is a 27 hole layout and you can pick which back 9 to play after the front nine is assigned. Out of the 27 holes, 23 of them have water hazards guarding the hole. Yes, you may want to bring some extra balls for the wayward hitter. But, overall, you're going to love this course.

27 holes of grass and water... Great for a desert rat like me.. Bring extra balls for the water gods..

Wonderful change from our normal courses..
Very good shape. Played end of June... very hot. Very good condition.. Green roll true, but a little slow. Fairways very nice and rough not long enough.

Very playable..

Played Blue and White 9's

Good fun..
