Great course. There are three courses in Fairbanks and this is by far the best. It has length and challenge. No green up here is any good but Chena Bend's greens are about as nice as you can get this far north. The holes are interesting and the course winds along the river (no holes across the river, however) which is pretty.

The golf course was AWESOME! I played while visiting my son who is stationed at Ft. Wainwright. What a treat. A camera should be part of your equipment for this track.

Great layout in good shape. A must play if you are in the area between June and early September.

The staff from clubhouse to Superintendent to grill were all very cordial and helpful.

Well balanced with bunkers in just the right spots to catch the 230 - 270 yard drive, and protecting most greens. It is a matter placing the ball in the right spot.

You have to keep it in the fairway here or get punished severly. Dense woods common to Alaska make a pitch out a lesson in itself. Fairways and greens are extemely well maintained for being so far north. This course has some of the most beautiful golf holes I have seen anywhere. Play from the back tee's if you really want a challenge. With water coming into play on nine holes, and dense woods on almost every hole, this course would be a test of the best.

Pitching green is too small and elevated so it is hard to hold the green. The putting green is very nice and plays like the course.

Each hole is a unique experience. The holes are structured to have little or no intrusion from other players and the layout uses the contour of the land very well. It's fairway or jail for all but two drives.

The greens are the weekness. Not because of layout, which is actually excellent, harder on short holes and more receptive on longer holes. The problem is that they are in terrible condition, with respect to the roll of the ball until the end of June or beginning of July, which basically only allows two months of good playing time. I don't know how much of this can be helped with the climate.

Overall, a great layout around the first of July until it closes.
