I have only played this course once but it is the best course that I have played in Alaska so far. The fairways are actually soft enough to take a divot and not hurt your hands. The greens as well are better than any others I have played so far in AK. They are not to lower 48 standards but this is not the lower 48. |

This is a wonderful course. I've played it many times now and have enjoyed every round. Due to the late winters here in Anchorage it's hard to find greens in good shape but somehow they always have the best greens around. Overall this course offers plenty of challenges and scenary and is my first choice for out of town guest. |

Really fun and forgiving course. Generous off the tees and most greens are open in the front to allow you to run the balls in there.

I played this course at 7PM and it was a very enjoyable experience. I played Moose Run's Creek course and the greens here at Eagle Glen were much better although still slightly slow compared to lower 48 standards.

Played here 6-25-07, based on Golf Digest rankings of Alaska courses. Superior design, and optimal use of the terrain and vegetation. No two holes look alike, not even the par 3's, and it's a very nice golfing experience. Now the downside: it is Alaska, with a short growing season, so the fairways aren't as lush as you might expect for such a highly ranked course, nor are the greens as true and fast. Having said that, Eagleglen is a very nice golf experience, with great scenery. Conditions today: tee boxes were in nice shape: fairways pretty good, but thin in many spots: first cut rough was VERY patchy with thin grass and lots of dandelions: second cut rough is GNARLY and punitive: bunkers are plentiful, with a heavy grained sand, but are very playable: greens are moderately sized, lightly contoured (if at all), and played slow. The course has a good bit of water on it, very skilfully integrated into the design. Terrain is pretty flat, so the course is walkable. I recommend you hook up with an experienced player, because even with a yardage book, there are enough quirks to cause some trouble: I was paired up with some locals, and they were very helpful in keeping me out of my usual troubles! I highly recommend Eagleglen. Customer Service In a word, excellent! Snack bar is a good spot for lunch, and the pro shop, though small, is well-stocked, with a friendly staff. Starter was very professional and a credit to the course management. Similar Products Used: None in Alaska as of this writing. |

RTJ Sr. in Alaska. This course is very similar to many of jones' other courses in that it offers a tough challenge with the usual problems. The problems are tough greens that are surrounded by well sculptured bunkers. Many of the your approach shots will be a mid to long iron in and will have a carry area. There is also plenty of wildlife around the course such as foxes, moose, bears, elk and bird life. The best thing about golf in alaska is that in june and july you can play till around midnight. I would recommend Eagleglen to anyone in the area. Customer Service good |
