Shoots in the 90s
Another masterpiece. That's why I keep coming back and our group enjoyed the Trail so much, they didn't want to discuss any other venues for our late fall trip next year. Customer Service Impecable! Southern Hospitality at its finest Similar Products Used: Courses in Northern Michigan |

I played the lakes and the par three. Both course were in good condition and the layout of both were excellent. Highly recommend this course to anyone of decent skill. |

A little home-town bias here, but I've played plenty of courses near and far. You won't find a better golf system in the U.S. than the RTJ Trail. Throw in average green fees in the $35-55 range and these courses can't be beat. Now, more specifically about Grand National...if you just want an enjoyable, challenging round, play the Lakes Course. The Links Course is a monster(lost 12 balls last time I played it). The Short Course is as good as par-3 golf gets. In closing, the Lakes Course has hosted the Nike Tour championship, the LPGA Tournament of Champions, the 2000 NCAA championship and is slated to hold the women's NCAA championship in 2004. What better compliment does a single track of 18 holes need? The only negative thing I can say about the Grand National site is the driving range could have been better designed. From the primary hitting area, all shots are down a fairly steep slope and the designated "greens" don't really help you judge how the real course greens will hold a shot. |

Shoot in the 90s
Played both courses in early March during period of heavy rain. Cartpath only rule was a killer while playing two rounds. Spent a lot of time scrambling across fairways to hit, then back again. Course was a little beat up after winter, mostly fairways and tee boxes. Greens were in excellent shape. This is a classic RTJ Trail course. Pars are really earned and bad shots really hurt. Classic example was an excellently played par 5 right up to short approach shot to elevated green. I thought I hit a perfect wedge, only to climb up to green and find ball had rolled off the back of the narrow green. Ouch! Two of the toughest courses I have ever played. Customer Service Tee times made through RTJ Trail folks...no problems, easy to do. Similar Products Used: Restaurant was nice, golf shop professional. The usual RTJ Trail service. |

This year is my 3rd trip to the trail at Grand National. Every shot is a challenge, if you enjoy your round by the good shots that you make this course is a winner. Both courses are better than the Black at Bethpage NY ,site of the 2002 open. Better than Garden City golf club, a top 30 in the country. The best value around. The par 3 course aint for kids. Not pitch and putt. think of 18 great par 3's that each can be played to 200 yds, plus or minus 25. Customer Service treat you like your a member Similar Products Used: My 3 rd trip back from NY |
