This review is for Meadowview 9 only. I played it last weekend, early March. Of course the grass has not come out yet. A nice HILLY walk with tight fairways on most holes. Only one hole has water coming into play, the last, a par five. Meadowview may sound flat, but the majority of the 9 holes, 7, are up on the side of the hills, not flat at all. Customer Service Good, friendly. Remember, you do have to be able to access the Arsenal to use this course, so not open to the complete public. Similar Products Used: Driving range is cheap compared to others in area. |

The course could be much better maintained. Lately with the dry conditions the course condition has worsened. The bermuda greens aren't in very good shape and the fairways are cut much too high. Overall, the course is enjoyable to play, that is, it has some challenging holes and holes you can score fairly easily on. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout adding to the enjoyment. The course condition itself leaves a lot to be desired. The course was in far better condition some 5 years ago when they had a different superintendent. Also, Redstone is on a military installation and with cutbacks has to operate on its own revenue. The course no longer gets a subsidy which may account for the condition. Customer Service Tee times on the weekends can be difficult to obtain since they defer to active military first, then retired militaty, then members. Most everyone that works at the course makes it a pleasant experience. Similar Products Used: The clubhouse and restaurant are great and the driving range is too. |
